Get a 250W, I dont think increasing exhaust size will lower the room temps enough.

regards,

buy an air cooled hood----->Bash some holes in your wall---->run some exhaust-----> connect a/c vent to cupboard via ducting.....problem solved.

You should get a cool tube w/6" flanges and a 240cfm can fan, it's only 85.00 foa a 5000btu A.C...never be concerned with the weather! set it and forget it keep's temp's and keep's Co2 in space!!...work's good for me!First pic 3 rd week flowering...simple grow set up cost me 237.00 to build! found A.C. for free craig's list!too heavy for retired woman to move so I gave her 50.00 and she was more than happy! high heat = fire if your not careful think out your grow....inside there would go with flouresent's..??2 week clones purple haze.jpg!6 inch cool-thru 32 inch sq reflector.jpg1000watt HPS cool thru xxl hood 34000btu output!.jpgclone and flower room's.jpg429 cfm exhaust thru lamp outside.jpg500btu A.C. 77 degree's allway's!!.jpg

Yeah dont downgrade your light power if you can avoid it. Like these guys say if you can spring for it, get an air cooled hood for your light and increase the diameter of your exhaust fan. I also use a 4 inch fan bringing in fresh air from outside into my tent and that helps some and it also helps to bring fresh air in.
See, after running a 400 for awhile you probably wouldnt be happy with a 250. An AC unit is another option but I try to avoid that since I'm already running 2 400 watt lights and enough fans to lift off the ground with and my electric meter is already spinning right off the house.
Good luck to you

buy a good LED, or bring fresh air from outside with your 4'' fan, but really consider LED for such small space... with everything you are about to buy you will be halfway there to buy a better LED than the 400hps.. I had same problem when running 2 400W. .. well at first running the 2 was impossible, then I brought fresh air from outside (between -5 and 5 the temps in the winter around here) then I could run the 2 but still was at about 32+degrees, so I upgraded to 6'' and I could run my 2 400W easily, my temps were always between 19-24 degrees. But now anyway the HIDs are all out , sick of the fire hazard, it's all LED in my room

increase the size of intake. it needs to be 2x the exhaust. by telling us whenu open the door that temps drop means it needs more flow.

latest update people PROBLEM SOLVED i swaped my 4" filter and fan for 6" and set up to push air to filter and not pull it,s worked out great steady temps of 26.5c thx again for all input i am so happy now bongsmilie:bigjoint:

Theres only a few ays to help with temp problems.

Your lights to come on at night time and off in the day.

You increase you outake /add an intake smaller than you outake , drawing air in from ouside.

Use less lighting.

Increase the size of your growing area.

Add ac unit.

Take your pick with what you think is most best for you.
