Temp. for cloning?

Looked in the grow faq but did not see it but did not do a search although it has probably been asked / answered many times...

But my question is, is there a certain "perfect" temp. to keep clones in? I have my clone chamber in my basement and at night it has been getting cold outside -- around 30 degrees F. I'm not too sure how cold the basement actually gets at night. They clones did just start taking (today is day 14) so everything appears to be okay. Though, it is only going to get colder.

The warmer, the faster they'll root (all things being equal) . . . much below 70F and success rate goes down fast, and those that survive can take a month or more to root at low temps.
I just started 9 last night. Have to do them down here, in the living area, 'cuz it gets too cold upstairs in the grow-atorium.

I'd guess 70-88*F to be ideal.

You'll definitely have better success with some additional heat, 'specially in the basement. You could do a closet setup, I attached a pic of mine. It's a cheap plastic one I got from Home Depot and I think it was like $80. Vegging in the bottom and cloning on the top, so they get heat from the top and bottom. Stays perfect in there, high 70s to low 80s year round and it gets into the 50's in the room where the closet is in the winter.

I was thinking of using a heating pad underneath. I have my clones in a large clear plastic tote. I figure I can put the heating pad on a timer to come on for periods of time.

Thanks!
