Temp control Help

how do i keep my temps down. I have an extractor fan with carbon filter in there. The tent is also open about 10 inches where i have a fan blowing in, plus the windows are open and its still 92F. I have opened the door of the tent all the way now but i need a solution. Please can anyone help x

You have to suck air out of that space from your light.

How big a light?

Dimensions of your tent?

What type of light? sounds like you need an air cooled light. Carbon filter on an extrusion fan, with the door and windows open is defeating the purpose.

Thanks everyone so far, My tent is 120x120x200cms, and i have a 600w dual spectrum. Just an update, i went in the tent this morning after closing it all up and it was 92F in there Should i get a 250Watt bulb instead? should i spray my babies to keep them moist, is the shell going to come off the tops of them if its been heat fried on? Will the shell be heat fried on even, do i take the shell off? Sorry so many Q's i know, if anyone can answer them thank you x

You should lookinto something called an evaporative cooler. They're like a mini swamp cooler. It's like a regular fan except it uses water to cool down even more. It only cools whatever it's pointing at, it's not an a/c. You have to point it right at the plants.
They're about $100 and the cool a space down about 10-12 degrees or more.
Or you you could just get an air cooled hood...

thats what i use in the summer, heavy on electricity though, but hell its worth it..

Air cooled hood mightbe the way to go. Or at least make sure you hood is angeled correctly with your suction. The goal is to get heat out fast. Also may want to check the angel of your hood.

Where is your extractor venting to?

If it is in the same space as your grow then all you are doing is recycling the already hot air then pumping it back into your grow to be heated even more. Also is your inlet being pulled from a fresh source or pulling the ambient (90 degree) air? Essentially you want fresh air in and old warm air out (as totally away from your grow area). What temp is outside?

Swamp coolers are effective only if you have low humidity in your room. It also kicks out moisture, increasing your humidity. And if your room is already kind of humid, it won't be effective in cooling it down.

Yes I agree with MrMeanGreen. You gotta exhaust the heat out of the room the tent is in to really get a handle on the heat. I would personally invest in a vented hood first before the evaporating cooler. You will find exhausting the heat with a vented hood will lower your temps 10-15 degrees too

And won't increase the humidity.

your screwed if your room temp is that high. lol....best thing to do is have light on at night time, and during the hottest part of the day 1-7pm or so, keep the light off.

Yeah its venting out of the window so cant be that. What i have done tho is take the carbon filter off and the suction through the extractor seems much stronger. I've managed to get the temps down to 82F but i still have that Air cooler to come yet. My humidity is at 31% so i think it will be fine once i get the cooler in there Thanks all for your help
