TDS PPM PH Meters

im looking to buy meters to support my grow, question is a tds meter the same as a ppm meter

i plan on using part distilled water and part filtered tap water for my grow is that an ok idea

tds, ppm, ec, testers, they all test the amount of solids in a liquid, parts per million.
the ppm meter tells you the ppm.

the ec tester tests the amount of electric curent the liquid can carry.
more liquid more ec.

in the uk you can buy red diesel cheap to use in tractors it is tax free.
it is illegal to use it in vehicles on the road.
you can put chemicals in it to bleach the red dye so if stopped by the police it looks fine.
but they can still tell if it is red by using an ec tester ( electric conductivity) even though the colour has gone the dye is still there and the diesel is thicker as it has more soluble solids in it.
so more parts per million you see.ec is uk, tds american etc.
