Thanks dude I appreciate your information you help me out quite a bit kind of upset must have pissed somebody off can't reply on somebody's thread no more lololololololo. Don't know what I could have done just got building clu44 1212. Cheep 1750mah View attachment 3989515 View attachment 3989516
Cheap is good. Its all in what someone wants to do in the end. My first light, while at the time I felt was good, was a piece of shit! In the end, it does the job.

Sorry for delay on update. Had our 15 year anniversary so been MIA for a few days. Will get some pics tonight when they wake up.

So, day 16 started. Looking good. One thing I noticed is more stretch on the 3000k lights. From my eyes, it looks as if the light spread on the 4000k is much better but again, I am not a plant. However, the 4000k is keeping a better level canopy and not stretching nearly as much. Good or bad? Time will tell. Overall, growth is very good and I am pretty pleased with the bud sites. Provided I can keep em healthy, I feel yield should be pretty optimal (although I think 2 of these in a 2x4 would be KILLER). The 3000k bud sites seem to have a slight advantage as far as growth goes, but it is really too early to call still.

I will probably be doing a clean up job on the plants in about 9-10 days as well. Probably get rid of a few lower bud sites not producing/receiving light and defoliate a bit. It will be my only trim job until the last week or two when I will do a heavy de-fan leaf.

That's what I noticed as well. If your results continue to be similar to mine the 90 CRI plants will experience less growth mid/late flower and finish just a few inches above the 80 CRI plants.

Looking nice so far!

I just popped a couple of seeds with the 90CRI and jeez they're growing like, well, weeds. I have the dimmer at 50 percent and 18 inches away. @Rahz any suggestions?

@doz how do you water without saucers under your containers?

Seems like a high quality problem :)

If you think it's going to be an issue plan on topping them or running scrog, maybe check out "mainlining". Nugbuckets has a tutorial on the net.

I use the fabric pots. Water will seep out a little if I overdo it, but it gets soaked back up shortly after.

Whats your setup like Zonderkop? Like Rahz stated, if you are height limited, top early and flower early or mainline. I would top early no matter as you can create multiple mainlines. Or you can go with smaller plants, top early a couple times, and flower fast. If you do not have a height limitation, I would just top and work an even canopy.

Sorry, was trying to ask if 50% power at 18" are good parameters for seedlings. The growth rate is sick: went from stuck in the ground to 2 inches in just a day. High heat, high humidity = jungle growth, I guess. In any case, thanks for the tips! Training and topping for sure.

I'm running geo fabric pots in a 6 foot tent.

How early is "early"?

Yea, I think so... but if you're in a 2x2 tent you could achieve the same light level and use less wattage by moving the lamp to 14" and dimming down a bit more.

How early is "early"?
The first couple pair of nodes will be duds, and you want to top low enough to prevent a single apical bud from reforming. Make it so you have 6-10 established branches after a strong topping, or fewer or more depending on how you want to do it. If you're up for it, it might be worth it to try mainlining at least some of your specimens which would require topping pretty early, starting with 2 established branches that split into 4 and then 8 or more.

@Rahz thanks for the tip. I put my geopots directly on the floor to no ill effect. A lot easier than what I was doing before!

OK SO! Again, I apologize for the delay. Had a death in the family and its been a rough stretch.

Anyways, here is the update. Just started day 26 from flower flip. Looking pretty good Id say. Again, I would think that 2 of these in this space would be an outstanding grow but for testing purposes, it will do just fine! Growth is kind of all over after the stretch. They are not stretching anymore and just starting to put on flowers. Even on the edges, the flowers look pretty good! Getting good trichs all over the leaves and it already smells fantastic. The 3000k definitely gave more stretch than the 4000k. I will be doing some pruning tomorrow most likely and will post up pics when its done. I feel that within a small space with limited light, pruning will give the best results by far (and removing the lower junk bud sites). This strain does not slow down when stressed so I am not worried about that at all.

OK so we are on day 29. Guess I was a day off before (flipped on Tuesday 4 weeks ago). Just did a large de-leaf of the longer fan leaves. Again, this is something I prefer to do after much testing and I found that end of week 4 to be the best. They should be completely stretched, starting to put on weight, and their is minimal stress to the plant so lets not get into a debate on this :) Like I said, I will be doing a deleaf again probably week 8-9 of the dying leaves or large fans (could be later, depending upon what the plant looks like and trichs).

So, with this deleaf I was able to see the buds a bit better, branch structure, and plant overall. I am impressed with the 3000k more at this point. Branches overall are stronger and the buds being produced seem slightly denser, especially on the outer edges where not as much light is hitting. The growth on the 3000k is also a good 25% more than the 4000k. Whether this continues through flower we will see. As far as trichs, both tents are producing about the same. They both look and smell fantastic and very sticky already. Fan leaves are already receiving some sugar love which is always a good thing. Like I said, all of these plants are the same cut and 3rd generation. Previous generation I took to 10 weeks and I may have shorted them.

Also, as these lights will be sold typically to the home grower, Id like to maximize the grow. I will give multiple figures but I will be letting the bottoms go. I think this is important to the home grower growing for himself where that extra week or two wont hurt him but the extra product would be appreciated. I will give a dried number for the first cut and provide a dried number for the 2nd (as typically, the 1st cut all the premature buds would be in the quality scrap pile for joints/blunts/oil).

So, here are the pics. As the buds get more developed, I will be providing better quality bud shots. My wife also has a high end camera so I will be able to get some high quality bud shots at the end w/ trichs.

Oh, and as far as temps, RH, feeding....
They are each getting a gallon every 3rd day. I do not like to overwater and have found that stretching the time between waterings is best (without letting them droop from being too dried out). Nutes go every other watering, full strength. Temps are typically 68F overnight, 70-72F on first light, end mid to upper 70s by end of day. Humidity is about 45-50% at any given time.

IMG_0464.JPG Also a big fan. I think conventional wisdom says 3k would outperform 4K at flower, but nothing beats firsthand observation. I especially appreciate your considerating the interests of the home grower. Let me know if you ever want to turn to the dank side and go pure organic. I'll send you my second edition, which is in the works. In the meantime, this is my current setup (more cover crop than crop at this point) with 3k Tasty LEDs.

It's not a show off thread. It's a CRI test. At that lamp height PPFD is probably around 500-550 so we shouldn't expect to see huge buds. GPW will still probably be pretty good considering the wattage. Let's wait and see.

I'll let doz address most of that, but the thing is conditions are the same in both tents so while a small grow like this isn't going to provide clinical results at any rate it does hold some validity and it's one more test to add to the evidence.

Does it matter what gram per watt is when it's gonna be low quality?
The ratio from one tent to the other is what we're looking for. As long as both areas are treated equally yes it matters.

You butchered them... It was even a sparse canopy to begin with!

Yeah, it was pretty even at one time lol.... I will be doing another grow after this, a little more controlled with veg time. Ill start with clones, top 2-3 times early, and flower quick with more plants in smaller containers.

Even still being a bit uneven, growth is very good even on the edges. Bud sites are plentiful with strong branches and after deleaf, plenty of light getting down in there. I might be wrong @churchhaze but I don't believe you agree with de-fan this early, right? Either way, we all have different techniques and I've found it works out better (unless you have a large grow which makes it nearly impossible, different story completely).

Like I said, I believe 200+ grams from each tent even with a very short veg time is in the works. They are starting to get weight. One thing about this strain is the buds are VERY dense, nearly twice as dense per size at the Ghost Train so while it may not look like a lot, it turns out to be quite a bit.
