Because if you don't add CaliMagic first, it will lockout the magnesium and your mix will be fucked.

Yeah there's a scientific reason for it I just cant remember what the shit it forms is called. But the calcium and mag both bind to other elements. If you put your nutes in first it gives them a lot more options on what to bind with. This can cause weird reactions and form little like white flakes or clumps and cause precipitation.
