Tap PH Question

Hey yall, I have noticed something that happens to my tap water recently. When I go to water/feed my plants I schlep 2 5 gallon buckets to my basement. There I plop in some air stones in each, and from there I let it sit for anywhere north of 12 hours. The PH of my tap comes out at 7.9-8.1, usually I Ph down accordingly from 5.8-6.5. What I’m finding is that if I don’t use all of the PHd water in the buckets, the ph of the water rises back to over 7, if I leave it for more than 24 hours it goes back to 8. Why is this? This whole last grow I’ve been leaving phd water in a sprayer and watering my plants with it unbeknownst to me that the water inside is actually over 7, and not the ph I set it to.

So if I were to remove the air stones and cover the buckets the ph wouldn’t raise? How do people use reservoirs for DWC systems if the ph raises through evaporation, etc?

I would adjust my pH every 48 to 72 hrs. Some drift is ok as it allows access to everything as it goes thru the pH spectrum. I would just correct if I saw my pH hit 5.6 or 6.5 or every 3 days. What ever happened first

Well today you put it at 5.8 and then you wait until 6 or 6.5 and lower it again.but allsoo your tank will have ph- in it and when plant drinks water it will increase its concentration now the tank goes low on its own.

Its a chase for perfection.
