I just thought I'd try this and it works pretty well.
My gopro self corrects for the available light, but the other camera, (7D), has adjustable settings .
So I looked up the Kelvin of HPS lamps and it is around 1900 to 2100 Kelvin. My white balance will go down to 2250, and that's a lot closer to acceptable than auto balance.
This was thought up so I didn't have to shut down the 400w HPS lamp for a shot.
Here is normal auto setting.
And here is 2250 Kelvin
