Taking cuttings and the around day 5 the flowers are turning purple

I take cuttings of a plant and put them in a water cloner. I notice about 5 days in the flowers are turning purple.. I fill the cloner with straight tap water (ppm 150) and leave the ph around 7.4.. Why are they turning purple?? Some of the bad ones are dying off or the bottom stem is becoming mushy.

I put only tap water (160ppm) in my cloner... Its almost like a nutrient deficiency. After about 10 days of straight tap water I bump the ppm up to maybe 325. Maybe I should do it after 3-5 days?
