Taking Clones

so im looking at a plant, known to be female, and its got about 11 or so healthy sized growths/shoots whatever coming off the main stalk that look big enough to be cloned.

Is it safe to take them all off at once? will that shock it? or should i spread it out?

I cut 18 cuttings off of a plant that was 2 weeks into flowering once...She still ended up growing some huge dank buds, but I definately think it stunted her for a week or 2. It was cool though, she was healthy, and all the clones rooted too.

also my buddy is saying to take off 1 from every other node, like alternate which i take, so the remaining one continues to grow and create more cloneable sections... advice on this?

yea ive done it about 2 weeks into 12/12, just early enough to tell it was female... this time im keeping this one as the mother plant, and cloning the shit outa her

Every time you take a cutting, it puts a little stress on the plant. If you take a lot of cuttings, it will put a lot of stress on the plant. It all depends how long you want to keep good genetics. Since I want to keep my genetics good for years, I only take two cuttings per plant, per week to minimize stress. When I have a mother plant that is old and ready to get cut down, I will take as many cuttings as I want at that point.

That's the best way to do it

For me I would take 1 clone per week because I would want to keep my plants small. Also when cloning depending how tall of a clone you take you could take a clone off the top of each your clones and take those new cuttings and root them and put the ones you took a clone off the top of into flowering right away or wait a few days.

The rule of thumb is no more than 50% of foliage. Also take them evenly around the plant. Like not from just one side. With leaving 50% foliage still remaining evenly you should keep it growing vigorously in no time.

I've seen healthy great gene mothers pull 100 cuts a month! No issues! If your plant can't handle it you will learn rather quickly. My advice start off slow and work your way up.

yea thanks for the info guys, im going for a perpetual grow, so im leaving 2 females as mothers, and even tho they are about 2 feet right now theres about 12 clones or so i could take off just one of them, with all of them being around 6inches or so, its a hella bushy plant, and a lot of the side growths have gotten a lot of the attention apparently, so they are huge. the plant looks like a bush, thats for sure.

i think what ill do is take 2 clones off every week or 2, one from each mother, and see if thats enough to get a perpetual grow going, i have about 20 small pots, and 10 large pots, im sure ill end up needing more, especially with the massive amounts i can smoke. =)

thanks for all the info guys. ill keep checking back here to see if any1 else wants to throw in some imput.
