Taking a cutting - from main stem?

Hi everyone, my first post - a question that I have searched for the answer but cant seem to find a definate answer

When taking cuttings, does the branch (im cutting) need to be directly attached to the main stem - or can it be a cutting from a stem, thats branching off a stem, thats attached to the main stem....If you follow my meaning..

The best cutting are from the main stem, the thicker the stem the better chance of success.

it doesn't matter just as long as it has new growth

Low secondary branches are the fastest to root.

u can take clones from wherever you want on the plant, lower limbs usually take faster

Along with what everyone said, anywhere with a stem is fine, thicker parts root quicker.
