Read about this yesterday on CNN, sounds promising since it's on a federal level, but all the dry old farts in the Congress are going to veto this probably, and if it falls on W's desk, then it's surely gone. But on the other hand, hell yeah, this is a step in the right direction, I'm happy that something is happening. Legal possession of up to 100g? Fuck yeah! BUMP!

thats it bro they are waiting till next year to push the bill so that GWB is out of office, and that gives all of us the time to send these letters in to our congressmen and hype them up to vote yes on passing these the more the better and everyone can make a difference

not sure everyone knows about the wait to move this after GWB is out of office but its a great idea look it up

Heh, have either Obama or McCain expressed support for legalization ever? Unless it's Ron Paul (unlikely), I think the other two assholes will veto it.

Freaking article was nuts, said that a weed user is arrested every 38 seconds in the US, and that there are more arrests for possession than ALL violent crimes combined. And then they complain our fucking prisons are bursting at the seams?! Stop arresting people for pot, it's ridiculous!!! Alcohol kills more people than anything else, yet any idiot can drink his brains out every day unlimited, die from cirrhosis, drive drunk, etc etc, yet weed, a widely accepted medication for pain, nausea, etc, is illegal. First world? pah

This kinda stuff has nothing to do with the president. Sure if this bill was to go all the way to the president, george bush, he would probably veto it. But that doesn't mean congress can't still pass it......they can. The president, especially in the US, is mainly for media purposes and he serves as a "role model" and shows the rest of the world what americans are like, cuz we voted for him. You see everyone blaming just bush when it's not him. Congress has the control, and the dems have control over now.....and nothing is getting done. Hopefully they'll at least make weed legal and say we accomplished something. Hey maybe even end that "oil war" we are in. We don't even need oil to make gas, or corn, you can make 5 times as much cellulose to power cars with weed than with corn. WTF is going on today.

ya honestly if it was legal you can make bio diesel out of hemp seeds which is twice as viable as corn. it will go to vote some time late 2009 and GWB will be gone, Obama has stressed that he wants to let the states make their own laws so he will support hr 5842 and hopefully 5843 as well

That is retarded how he can do sht like that. There have been polls for years saying a majority of people in America believe in decriminalizing pot. I thought Bush wanted to be liked? And I thought states could make their own laws, Cali being an example and the other states who legalized medical marijuana. It's just those damn feds and invisible boundaries of states.
