just got introduced to Kelvin.. found out im running 4 4'ers @4100 K. needless to say things are going a bit slow.was my intension to run the 5s and switch over to a 1k HPS.
so im @a crossroad, should i just step up to a 1K MH for veg ( and what should the K be ). i wasnt quite ready for the fan the duct work and all the fun you have withHID heat but i knew it was coming,,what should have been my K rating of the flos ( blue ) and what about wattage.

thanks for any and all advice:dunce:

6500k is the optimum spectrum for veg and you could just use the HPS thats what I use from seed and they love that shit

You need to have ventilation and air circulation, regardless of the type of lighting. 5000k-6500k is the preferred range for veg lighting. HPS is the most common option for flowering, however some people use 2700k fluorescents. A 1000w HPS is good in a 5'x5' or larger footprint, a 600w is good for 4'x4', and they go smaller.

It provides red spectrum which is still effective for veg even though blue is preferred many people on this thread use HPS throughout entire grow
