I am currently doing my first t5 grow with red spectrum bulbs.

If anyone has flowering or harvest pic's with t5's especially High output t5's please post up.

I am at 24 days of flowering for my Auto Ak-47 and just a few days into 12/12 with my blue cheese and white widow.

Ill just show the pic's of my budding plant you can look on my grow if you want to see the others.

I use 4'8 bulb HO T-5s Cool Blue Veg. They work great in veg. As for flowering I read in a High Times article a few months back and they did t-5 12/12 the buds where smaller and light than the hps comparison but the trics on the t-5 where twice as many than hps.
And the trichs are what we are after...

interesting I figured HPS would hands down out-perform any fluoro, but they say twice the trichs?
I can't wait to see the end results of this grow.

I know I wont out perform bud in mass but if the
quality can be twice as great imagine how potent the bud would be if you had 3 t5's 1 top the other two on each side.

thanks. all those were aurora indica from nirvana. there were three different plants. the one with the pink hairs. the one with the white hairs and the one with the sickly looking leaves in the 4th pic. i used fox farm nutes for veg and flower. along with fox farm ocean forest.

With a 6 bulb or 8 bulb on top and 2 bulb on each side useing blue for veg and red for flowering, oh and fiming her twice. DAM that would be alot of tops and some thick coated buds.

Im not on 12/12 by choice, I was on 18/6 until about a week ago when I had to start my white widow and blue cheese, they are not autos
and will get too big if i let them veg any longer.

do you guys think that a 4 foot, 4 bulb t5ho fixture, would be enough light to flower a few small plants under. Also, t5 is better than t8, and t8 is better than t12, right. So at the store all of the cfls say they are either t3 or t4, does that mean they are more efficient.

I night the 2, 4 bulbfixtures from gtg, thinking I could hang them one next tithe other, but it didn't work that way. The box is 25" deep and the fixtures are 14" each. I've been thinking I could hang the other one vertically on the back wall of the box. Or I could use cfls for side light in the bloom box, and build a new box for the other t5ho fixture.

What do you guys think?

t-5 is best if you want to flower, you can veg with a t-8 but your flowering will suffer. I think your plan would work and well. Just fim or top so you have a even canopy.

damn... im almost wishing I had my blue bulbs now, looks awesome simpson. What kind of fluoro's are they? t8? t12?

I hear there is more thc, trich production because metal halides and blue tubes are closer to the UV spectrum... seems like your grow is good evidence of this.

What if somone was to use a black light or a light that produces a more focused wavelengeth of uv during the last stages of flowering?

they are actually tt-105 bulbs.. the ones i am using now are the bloom bulbs.. 3000k.. there are veg bulbs that are 5000k (i think) also.. the ballast itself is a sunleaves satellite IV.. each bulb = 11,000 lumens... 4 bulbs per ballast... 44,000 lumens total lumens per ballast... 420 watts total.. so each bulb is 105w's...

oh.. and as far as the black light.. i have not tried this myself.. have heard some good things about it.. makes sense why it would work.. i might do some experimenting with it after i get my grow room expand and my hydro system going... and if i do use it i will use it the entire flowering period... but as far as any advice about it right now.. i cant offer any one way or another...

for my setup for the summer i use the following

3 x 4" 8 bulb t5 HOs with mixed bulbs for vegging. i fucking love HO t5s for vegging. my plants go crazy under them.

for flowering ive been using a 2000 watt cool tube setup. lookin good so far.
