I have another thread and people have mention to get a 400hps, my old room mate was telling me i should get a couple t5 and use those. I plan to have up to 6 plants in 5 by 5 old bathroom which doesnt have ANY windows and gets to not too hot right now. So im afraid of the hps getting too hot for this room since i cant run venting. I have heard you can use the warm t5 to bud but how good is the quality of the buds? Would I want to combine warm and cold?

You'd need the 432 watt T5 to compare with a 400w HID, but the T5s would be hotter.

Fluoros make very good quality bud, just not as much of it.

HID is going to be hotter than fluoros. HPS creates light by igniting a plasma arc that reaches up to 1100C. The outside of the bulb can easily exceed the boiling point of water. The bulbs also emit tons of IR radiance, which is heat in the form of light.

Fluoros generate light by exciting mercury vapor, which emits UV, which then excites a phosphor coating into fluorescing visible light. Very little heat is created in the process. The hottest part of your T5's will be the ballast.

This allows a fluoro to convert more energy into visible light instead of heat.

Outside what? The house? No. The grow atmosphere? Yes. Don't recirculate the heat near the plants and you should be okay for temps and prolly humidity too.
