T duct or Y duct?

Hello, I want to exhaust two tents of different sizes using 1 fan/1 filter....what's the difference between the y duct and the t? I have a 36x20 tent and a 24x24 tent, 1 6-inch fan/filter combo going to be good enough?

the air is always going to travel the path of least energy (so if one is easier to suck tho it will pull more from that one ).......i tried doing what u are going to attempt it does not work ...one tent will always be hotter then the other

honestly it is a smarter choice to use 2 4 inch booster fans (100 cfms ones the metal blades) .....have them sucking from the tent and then blow into the Wye and vent out

if u are going to try it u are going to need a Wye with a damnper installed in one of the lines

Hmm, well one of the tents will be smaller than the other so I will be okay with the least resistance...plus idc about heat, I only use LEDs, I just need it for the smell...that's a good idea you had though...now hat you know more of my situation do you still think I should do two fans 1 filter?

u know that veggie plants have a smell to them too that the dogs can alert too .......when i first started grown it took me 3 weeks to get use to the veggie smell (clogged nose/sinus)

for full 100% smell control i know of only one method that works (ozone gen in the ducting) .....other wise i would go with 2 fans and 2 carbon scrubbers ......if u are in small tents then the 4 inch carbon scrubber is more then enough

or u can cycle the air in the tent ......dumps into the room then in the room u have a carbon scrubber sucking the air out of the room and dumping it outside (the smell would be contained in the room with the negative pressure the fan makes sucking ( this will work as oxygen is lighter then Co2 u would be removing hot Oxygen and drawling in cool Co2 and oxygen from your house/apartment )

i thought your whole thing was just venting for Co2

and the only bad news all the ozone gens for ducting are ment for 8inch or 10inch ducting

Okay well I am getting a 6 inch filter as a hookup and one tent is 36x20 and the other 24x24. the room is my bedroom so would that still be oky to just blow air from the tents into the room and then have a carbon filter scrubbing in the room venting outside? Or would it be wayyy too smelly? No worries about the delay, thanks for helping me out!

after awhile the smell to u is gone .......u will only smell it when u enter/leave the house .....nose blind

your only issue with u venting into the room like that is everything u own will set off dogs (this happens anyway from oil transfer) but u will set off a drug dog like u are carrying 5 lbs of weed

i been pulled over the dogs go off like crazy and the cops search my car for 40 mins find nothing .......the cop walked up to and said i never seen a dog hit like and us find nothing what are u doing bathing in the stuff

that is the only drawl back but it is going to happen to u anyways from the oil transfer i been growing for 3 years everything i own will set the dogs off now

order one of those and keep it outside your room ........when u have ppl coming over run it for 20 mins and it removes the smell (i cut and jarred a half pound one day and then buddy calls saids is coming over in 20 mins ........i kicked that thing on put the stuff back in the negative pressure room and he could not smell shit .....if he did would of been all over me for free stuff )

oh the one thing

Ozone removes Co2 and smells .........only run the Ozone part when u need to so the indoor Co2 lvls stay high (high Co2 bigger happier plants)
this thing does not make enough Ozone per hour to be harmful to human .......unless u are in a 2x2 closet and running the thing on lvl 5

side note if u smoke in the house it is great for clearing the air ....4 of us in here token down normally a haze but fan running full power is a 400cfm that pass tho it so air looked/smelled like nothing was going and we had to of smoked quarter in 30 mins between us

Awesome, do you just vent out of a window? So the room will have negative pressure regardless if the room is not totally sealed and let's say I open the door sometimes to walk in and out? And then have the ozone filter in case people actually come over!

yep .........i have my exhaust in the window next to a 6000btu ac (had hid lights for 2 year just moved to LED)

if u do not have a need for a window AC u can put these window kits for portable AC .......use that kit in the window and keep the shades down to ppl outside it should look just like a portable ac dump vent

yep the room will keep sucking from all the cracks to try to equal pressure with the door shut basic room is about 85% air tight if u have a central ac system alot of the air will be sucked tho that ....so there is a chance u might see a higher AC energy bill ( u are altering the air movement in the house with the 400 cfms dumping out that is 400 cubic feet of air that needs to comes from somewhere)

and yah u can do that u are safe ......it has 5 setting for ozone so u can go to lvl 5 run it for 10 mins and should be safe (fan on full power is 400 cfms so 10 mins is 4000 cubic feet moved tho it) while the ppl are there u can set it on lvl one ozone and turn the fan to weak power ( i figure with 4 fan setting it is in steps of 100 cfms )

for mine personally .........i got some marine plywood painted it black ......pushed the ac to one side cut and fitted the rest with the plywood then i fitted it with a vent and sprayed painted that flat black

it is spring loaded so when it is off bugs can not get in

note my window that i dump from has a bush that is 6 inches in front of it making it hard to see window .....hence the black paint to make it harder to id

and to let u know it works ..........3 years growing and next door is a state trooper with 2 teen kids 40 feet from the window

if they could smell it i would of been busted first 6 months when i was dumber about things

Perfect, so one last question. You just have the carbon filter and fan hanging or propped up on something in the room and it's not connected to any ducting whatsoever? I have seen people make containment areas out of rubbermaid totes and have both tents with boosters running to the tote via ducting and the tote containes a carbon filter which then is drawn out via a fan. What are your thoughts on this method? The same as before?

the rubber maid totes the only thing i seen like that is a drying chamber (negative pressure keeps the smell in the filter clear it out and the fan keeps the air moving over the plant to remove the water)
not going to speak ill of it ..........the idea is sound if u keep it in a area with humidity controlled 40-60% 50% is golden zone .....personally i set up a 3x3x5 tent with drying rack carbon scrubber 2 axis fan and a dehumidifier/humidifier to control the area

my fan is mounted to the wall and the carbon scrubber is fitted to the suck side of the fan ( i use a old tent frame with no tent around so the i can hang off that )

my set up is 4 parts in 1 room
t5 open area for starting the plant 3x3 tent frame cut in half so i have a work table
4x4x6 tent for veggie
open 5x5 area for flowering (old tent frame)
3x3x5 drying tent
room is 11x12x7 ...so works

yep

and the final part is tricky ........when u go to friends houses take over something good beer food something every time u go over.......this head trick i learned if u do something like they if they stop by they feel like they need to do the same thing too so it stops those surprise drop by...........plus they like it so much they rather u come over there so they get something

this helps hide it more and helps u avoid lying to friends and ppl u like

if u are worried about your place being entered ......i can link u a simple alarm system that will go off if the door to room is open (instead of calling alarm ppl or cops u can program in your number so calls cell phone plays recorded msg u made ) first year i would not leave my house until i installed that (know some dumb ppl i might have to kill if they ever found out i had this much weed)

i know this
but the system is designed to only release a small amount the plate that is making it is less them 400mgs a hour

with using it just to kill out the smell there is not heal issue with this unit ..........now a commercial 4000mg unit yes fuck u all up (those are meant to be turned on everyone leave and come back in 8 hours to remove smell of mold and other things from houses)
