First post hope this goes well. First grow from seeds in 5 gal soil under 1 1000hps. A buddy that told me symmetrical branches are a sign of male plants at the start. Wondering if anybody can back this up, or shoot it down. Cervantes Grow bible states it is a trait of veg and then the offset comes from the flower cycle. I had, what I thought were four females all with branch symmetry from seed, single calyx dual pistils at the node. Most pix show grape like formation for males, but it appears not to be so. The branches started a offset pattern about 3 ft up ( finished about 5-6 ft. ) I being a rookie let them go without really noticing. The traditional signs of them being male were not seen and maybe something caused shock into hermie? I was late on a couple of waterings and my nute switch was fast. lost power a couple of times to line work in the neighborhood ( but they just slept a little longer )always used a green led flashlight if I was in and only for a quick show. Pulled them early with seedy flowers and seriously pissed off! Three months wasted and back to root one.
