switching to 12/12 question

Everyone does it differently and its really a preference thing. Switching to 12/12 one day will work fine, but many people feel a 24/36 hour period of darkness helps to "jump start" the process. I don't really care about that, and at the same time I have multiple plants at multiple stages so I just throw the plants from their normal light schedule into the 12/12 grow space. Either way will work fine.

ya iv heard people say it helps and iv heard people say its a myth lol. I geuss its just personal preference like you say. Ill try 24hr darkness then switch to 12/12 just for the heck of it.

Going the full 24 hours will ensure the plant has gotten the queue to start producing the hormone that ends up creating bud. That is for sure. It is a require minimum that they get 12 hours to start making the hormone. This is why either should work, just with the 24 hours you KNOW it is starting where as the 12 hours maybe it did maybe it didn't get the queue. Either way, by the next 12 hour dark cycle it would surely understand...thus making either work fine.
