hey fellas, just wanted a couple opinions, im going into flowering, so im transplanting into bigger pot, and also switching my grow media. at the moment im running a 50/50 mix of miracle gro/ top soil. was wondering if i should go with ff of or happy frog, and was considering also an organic potting soil/coco formula. any suggessions?

you can run into problems with the coco if you don't know what your doing. I suggest Kellogg's outdoor patio plus potting soil. it's basically the same as FF ocean forest but it's 1/3 the price. You can only get it on the west coast at lowes or home depot. If your not on the west coast you might want to try super soil from home depot, a lot of nurserys use the stuff and its priced really good. Hope that helps

if goin FF do Happy Frogs, I prefer a soilless mix myself (SunShine Mix#4)

and if your transplant before fliping to flower you need to wait about 2 weeks or your just wasteing soil as once you flip the lights root production slows,,,,,,,alot!

well then, appreciate the suggestions guys.im thinking since its a first gro, pehaps ill just go with the scotts ptting soil, its a lot closer, but should i get a fertilizer enriched soil? or perhaps might the ff be a tad bit more beneficial for a cannabis plant? just wondering...thanx

man, a lot of info( really appreciate it), but a bit confusing as i absorb all this info and try to dtermine the best for my situation.im like 50 days into flowering, my soil is old and not too much( in coffee can) so how might i continue? i was thinking get it into a bigger pot asap and get some nice new rich soil in there.id prefer not messing around too much with nutes, so if theres a good soil that provides enough for flowering, kool.should i transplant then veg for 2 more weeks? is that what your sayin?....

yes exactly allow the roots to find the new soil and a mix of FFOF & Happy frogs can get you thru with not to many nutes, may need to add Cal/mag thou FF sometimes has an issue with that

thought id throw an update, i switched to the scotts premium potting soil, also bought a bag of mushroom compost.said it was good for vegetable plants so i figured why not. anyone know if mj benefits from mushroom compost?it said 20-50 % but i just mixed a little bit with the potting soil and also threw a very little bit of miracle gro top soil mix over the top of the medium.also switched from a coffee can to a 10" pot and wow!, in like 3 days ive noticed the main stem get much thicker, leaves become greener and plenty of growth up top(1 new set of leaves and about 2 inches higher). pretty amazing. when transplanting i softened the existing soil the roots were in for ease ofgrowth into the new soil.
