Switching HPS to LED

Yes, I didn't understand that you wanted to add these higher chip boards to your 288s and use the same driver. Thats why I said to get 8 boards and use the 600h, because I didn't comprehend you wanted to add to your existing (4) 288s. Apologies if this is what you were asking.

In the future anytime you're adding to an existing build or an existing array of boards and wanting to use only 1 driver, you'd want all the boards to be the same. If you have 2 styles of boards you'd typically want 2 different drivers.

I’ve pretty much decided to only grow HPS lights during the winter. Now I’m buried under LED research. My friend essentially said to build a LED light setup but the price tag that’s attached to that is not what I want to do until I know Led is where I want to stay. So for this experimental stage I have one big question. For overall bud weight and quality, should I go with a white, red/blue, or a mixture of all 3
I’m running a Kind xl 750 led , only draws 430w , to cool it I just put a plastic bag over my ac vent , cut off the bottom & tape it around a dryer vent which goes right into the top of my tent which works excellent w/ central air, my friend is tired of paying for high bills running a 1000 hps & also looking into led so I’m trying to find a reasonable replacement for him.

Please quit recommending shitty lights to people. Thank you.

3w & 5w chips are maybe 25-30% less effecient compared to .5w white mid-power chips, but most of the chips in the light are red chips and might offset that dynamic. I bet it's closer in comparison to mid-power white LED μmol/j than people will give you credit for. It seems like a pretty nice unit, I didn't know they made a remote controlled multichannel light like that. Its a bit too spendy for me though at only 430w. :bigjoint:

If you're recommending lights to your buddy I'd take a peek at QBs or strips before you pulled the trigger on anything, but just a suggestion. They are less expensive and will run cooler as well. Mid-power LED are really effecient.
