I'm doing an indoor grow this year for the first time and I wanted to get rid of makes, I'm currently running a 21/3 light cycle, I plan I dropping it to a 12/12 till I can determine sex of my plants, after I sex then I want to return them to veg, these plants will be going out doors in the next 2 months do I wanted to know if when I switch them back to veg, what are some lower light cycles that will work so I can bring it down slowly to match outsids light cycle, trying to avoide going back over 20 hours when I re veg. Could really use some pointers first time growing under lights bongsmilie

What you growing?
I'm by no means an expert so dont hold me to this, i could be wrong. But the plants wont show sex until they mature to the right age.
if anything messing with light cycles could herm them and eventually turn them male.

If i'm wrong, Sorry in advance.

Take cuts off the plants, labeling them so you know what plant it came off. Root cuts. Flower cuts. Kill male parents. Put females outside. Alternatively, learn to identify gender through preflowers.

Inducing flowering then reverting to veg is bad idea, as MM says.

Save some trouble and unecessary stress and look at the nodes at about week 3 most will show. You have to look close but they there. Re vegging in my exp is going to set you back about 2 weeks of slow growth. I think it is fact that it has to show sex before it ie even ready to flower. Is there a reason you want to do what your saying?

The plants sprouted in early march so they are almost 6 weeks old but I can't tell by preflowers yet, there are starting to gro branches from lower nods, when should pre flowers show, or how old do they have to be to take cuttings, and I don't want to stress them so I guess those two would be favorable

I know people who do this for their outdoor grows. It will slow you down by a couple weeks as the plant transition between flower and veg. If you can see preflowers, depending on strain, this will be less stressful on the plants. Even if they are not fully back into veg when you move them out, they should quickly transition into veg once they are outdoors.

Take clones of your plants any time asap...
Mark them, same as mother...
Clone for SEX! It's the only way to go...
Take a small lower branch and clone it... veg for a week... then into 12/12...
In less than two weeks [three total from clone date] you will have sex of plants....
Easiest fastest way....

5 weeks tops from germination I always see pre flowers. You have to know what your looking for why waste time and effort cloning a plant that is male. Most the time I see pre flowers before its ready to cut from. Easiest way is to buy fem seeds. From any half ass decent breeder you will have 100% females from their fem seeds.
