Not sure what part of norcal you are in, I'm in the sierra foothills around 40 deg n. and also have been getting my next outdoor lineup going. Currently growing a few moms so as to take clones around march.
Don't know about you but I try to check out the stats on individual strains to check for how long they take to flower befor I decide on a strain. I had problems last year with a few picks that took to long and got hit with the Nov weather, it was not pretty to see, believe me.
I did good with a few of the Kush varieties. The original OG did real well, and had good results with a strain called Mr. Nice. It wasnt a huge producer but was very bug resistant and no mold problems at all. Its a g13 crossed with something that I cant remember right now. Hash plant I think. About 1 1/2 lb per plant, no large colas but a mass of golf ball size nugs.
Blue dream always does well around here. A lot of the 'big boys' grow it due to its ease of growing and good sized plants and buds. I've seen 4 lb. 9 footers that looked awsome.
I found a strain that is a cross of Blue Dream and OG Kush I will be giving a try as well. Since both have done well in my garden befor I figured on giving that a try.
I heard that the GSC was a longer winded strain so I hadn't considered that one as an outside grow, but maybe I'm wrong on that, does anybody know what the flower time of GSC is???? I haven't been able to find much info on it. I do have a mom but haven't taken any cuttings yet.
Which of the ones that you grew last year seemed to work out the best for your area? I notice a few strains there that I havent heard of as of yet, and am always looking for ones that are good for a norcal outdoor.
Other strains that did real well for me where C99, white widow ( watch for mold ), pure power plant, Purple power to name a few.

Hurry up springtime, I'm tired of winter already!!!!

i hear it's about 9-10 weeks for gsc...that og kush x blue dream sounds awesome...
It was a freebie with my last seed order. I've got several on this order that look real interesting. The Blue Widow ( blueberry and white widow) I popped about a week ago looks to be a good one as well. Also recieved a Blue Hash which I also popped. Both of these look to be good for outdoors as well.
I did recieve another strain which I have never seen anybody post about, and am not too sure if I'm going to be growing it anytime soon unless somebody knows something about them. Its a sleestack x skunk.

Also will be growing the Budda Tahoe Kush outdoors as well, as I understand its a very good producing and stoney strain. I have several going indoors right now still in veg. Also will be trying the Vanilla Kush outdoors, it seems to do well indoors and is a very quick to finish strain.
8 to 9 weeks on that GSC strain is right on the border line, as I am trying for short growing time strains to avoid loosing any to early nasty weather. But I may devote a smart pot to it anyway just to see.

So many strains
So little time

Looked up that xj-13 and that looks awsome!!!!
If only I could get my hands on a clone of that one !!
