Swapped SF4000 for HLG 600 RSPEC

Hi all,

I'm after some advice please.

I have swapped over my light to an HLG 600 RSPEC. I was having heat issues and crap support from Spider Farmer. I read great things about HLG so went for them.

Plants are in vedge and coming into Flower. Just finished Week 3 from seedling showing.

HLG advised to set the light dimmer on 4 which is arround 320w the light is a 600w.

The light went in Thursday at the start of the plants 16 hour day. They have had 2 full days with the light as is.

How often/ soon should i turn this light up as i am kean to get the PAR to the plant.

Is 2 days sufficiant to now up the light to the next dial?

Here are the wattages at the wall for the 600 R-spec:

I run two hlg 650 rspec s I run them 30 to 36 inches away from canopy at 40 percent during the first few weeks of veg and then slowly bump it up a notch as I see the plants are doing well and would like more light I usually stop at 80 percent during flower

cool i was hoping somone would be using them.You had them long? How have they performed for you?

They are the best lights I’ve ever had I love them I’ve ran them for a year two rounds and working on my third now

Lol nvm my fly strips I use them to detect if any gnats are around I’m overly paranoid I have to duck down

If your on Android, download the tent buddy app and use it to set your lights. Takes all the guesswork out of it. I have a hard time believing that the respec will do anything for your heat issues over the sf4000.. defintley a n overall better light tho.

There is also another app called Photone that does the same thing, it has a hold button so you can lock a reading and move the phone to see the reading, I installed Tent Buddy will see how they compare.

I recently bought a 350r, so still new to the led thing. My observation is that these are powerful SOB’s. I wouldn’t get in a screaming hurry to turn it up. I started using mine at 7 weeks of 12/12 on my last plant, and immediately got foxtails at full power. I’m using the below recommendation for mine on my new grow.
