Has anyone ever done this, i have only seen 1 picture of this type of setup, it kinda like dwc except the it floods and drains on a cycle,,

my only concern is that the roots will dry out to quick after they leave the net pots.

I'm planning this for my next setup - 4 3x3 trays covered by Netwell Inserts.

Since the inserts are fairly tight on there, the humidity in the rootzone will be almost 100%, which should preclude the roots from drying out much if at all.

I grow in hydroton and flood every two hours, so roots drying out would not be a concern for me.

But as far as the concept goes, I'm in love with it and can't wait to get it setup - the only issue that I can think of is algae/mold growing on the underside of the insert, but some 35% H2O2 should handle that pretty well.

EDIT: check out Tat2ues (sp.?) grow, he made a custom holder out of plywood or something, and he's running pretty good.

That looks like it should work okay, but you're gonna wanna make that tray opaque - that's gonna be algae central with clear plastic surrounding it.

Other then that it looks all right.
