Super Silver Haze to Flower and Seed

I cracked 10 SSH seeds on July 29th. Vegged for 3 weeks and flipped because why not. So far, 3 females have shown themselves and I removed them to my late flower tent with my last remaining NL5, which should be chopped within a week. Hoping to get a couple more females to leave with whatever males appear and there are a few candidates, no way I get 10 females! Better not anyway. I think it's a little weird that I'm seeing females first. I haven't grown regs much but I always believed the males develop first.

I am doing my usual style with 5 gallon+ pots of promix hp fed from start to finish with GH Maxibloom. Currently occupying 2 4x4 tents, My flower tent is powered by a Viparspectra 500W KS5000. I've been using it for 10 months and it's flawless for me. My veg tent has a 630W Phlizon 830-B that I won in a giveaway last year, right after I bought the Viparspectra. I have used the Phlizon for one cycle and while it runs a little hotter than the Viparspectra and doesn't have as advanced diodes (Samsung LM281b instead of the newer LM301H) nor a detachable driver, it puts out a decent spectrum and intensity to flower. I plan that tent to be where I mature seeded plants as soon as I finish getting them sexe5 days from germination:I'm using new pots for this run, fiveish gallons
10 days in, starting to see alternating nodes and other signs of maturity
8 plants in a 4x4 is a squeeze
3 confirmed females
I put them upstairs with my last NL5 which should be done in another week.I really want one more female for here to fill this tent. I've tried 5 and it doesn't work for me.I also put 2 plants outside because the sun is free. They have about 8 or 9 weeks before cold temps do them in. I am in no way an outdoor grower, but I have no further room and who knows

I took some cuttings from the 3 known females. And this morning the weirdo of the ten showed me a pistil, of course: smaller.than all the rest, twisty and rolled leaves, strange straight out of the shell. Someone who knows a bit about breeding said to me recently, and I paraphrase, 'weirdos are winners'. I guess we are going to find out!

As of this morning, I got 8 females from 10 seeds. Kind of amazed.

LOL you wanted some males, right?? Pot certainly has a perverse sense of humor.

Subbed. Pretty sure SSH is next on the docket for me.

Another day, another twist. I moved all the males outdoors and sorted the females into tall and short in separate tents so I can get even lighting for all of them. I plan to hand pollinate individual branches now instead of whole plants.

I need to be ready to collect pollen when these boys pop which looks to be soon.
Moving the males outside means almost 13 hours of daylight instead of the 12 they had inside. I'm gambling that they won't reveg due to that little shift.

Three weeks since flip. Really glad I separated the tall from the short the other day: the short ones are forming buds while the stretchy ones stretched and are barely budding yet and they are taller than I would like. I'm guessing they will need support down the road. Liking the look of the shorties a lot.

Well, since Saturday, the giant decided to stretch 4 more inches and grew right through the light. I definitely should have topped twice.

It's kind of interesting how close to this bar light I can come and not get burned.

What is your plan? Doesn't look like you can raise those lights much more.

Well, I did raise the lights as far as I could nearly to the ceiling of an 80" tent. And that one damn plant continued to stretch and is now officially too tall. It's also far behind all the others in bud formation so I'm going to delete it. I really don't feel like flowering this for 12 weeks or whatever. Just an unuseful pheno that's gotta go. Kind of makes it easier to move forward on my Polar Gelato grow.

Just move it beside your desk, in a couple months you can add some lights and tinsel.

Thought about that and I still have a couple that are tall, just not too damn tall. Plus the big one was eager to shoot roots on clones, so I can try her again with some serious training.

Lol Nope! Not running that tent an extra who knows how many weeks to finish one plant! I have a schedule to keep to! Cool weather months are for pumping out bud. I mainly did this for future seeds to play with and I'll get plenty of bud for personal enjoyment

How long, baby, how long

Even with that big plant gone, this tent is a mess. 6 plants is too many, 4 on risers to equal out heights. I have to open 3 sides of the tent to water all of them. They're happy plants though so maybe by Christmas I'll have some bud, hey?

Pollen from a single flower. My pollen collector. Tomorrow should be the day.

One of the short ones stretched a little more too, so off the riser it comes. I really shouldn't complain, they are loving life and doing their thing.
