Super plant getting too tall.

One plant had to be left longer at veg (5.5 weeks) because I acquired some clones and wanted them to have plenty of time until flower. I started 12/12 about 9 days ago or so and expected vertical growth to begin to slow a little. She's starting to form buds so I don't want to do anything too rash, but I guess I don't have much of a choice if she keeps it up.The big is still growing 2 inches a day. She is now well over 3.5 ft and with a 1 ft pot It's looking like I may run out of room. Anyone have any suggestions? The plant was so bushy at the beginning and looked to show mostly indica traits, but now the node spacing has spread out a little and shit is growing sky high. This common?

Tie it down or pinch it over.. no worries.. it will point back up at the light in a day or two and suffer little delay in progressive growing time.

I send plants to flower at 8 to 12 inches tall.. if I untied them they would be several feet tall.

Differences between plants and there stretch while transitioning from vegative growth to floral is mostly related to genetics but environment has a part as well .. Chances are you are growing Hybrids like the majority of people now days ..

You may be able to train the plant by bending and manipulating .. If you look up super cropping you might get a better idea of how others manage and work there canopy for optimal results ..

Best of luck , enjoy it for what its worth .. 85 % of growers bail or fail ..

Stalks on this POG Kush are thick as small trees. Afraid if I bend it I'll break it. I guess I'll give it a shot in the morning when the lights come back on. Just makes me real nervous. I want to be mad that this plant turned into a freak, but at the same time it's real dumb to complain about something that's probably going to be my yield queen this round.

To supper crop you are effectively breaking the plant. Take your time! Do it after you have watered and they will be more supple. This method if done properly will boost your yield so chill, it will be fine in the end :)

In people's trial runs with supercropping (specifically topping) they all say it nearly stops growth for a week therefor just making my time until finished another week out. I've got people waiting so I'm going to try roping it down and if it breaks, I have a topped plant lol

bend that sucker!! lookup videos on how to supercrop..

you can bend the new growth down to the point of breaking the inner stem but leaving the outer stem in tact.
(this can be done up to two weeks into flowering)
it will heal within a few days.. to whatever direction you make the bend.
along with the horizontal benefits you will gain...there are also nutrient nodes that will form, making everything above extra healthy....

...good things come to those who wait.......a week delay is nothing....not in plant time

My pride and money are tied up in this so there will be no bail and no fail. I'm a research addict. With well over 100 hours of research gone into this grow I expect nothing less than some of the sweetest buds I've ever tasted. The money invested doesn't hurt my motivation either ;)

That is what we like to hear around here ! Kudos

I'm stir crazy so I got the night light out and went in there. Took the top 6-8 inches of the plant and bent over to a 90 degree angle. Tied it down with yarn through one of the holes I previously made on the bucket. I couldn't go any lower the stem would snap for sure, although I will give it a try in the future, this first grow means too much to me to risk it. Cut too many clones for the next round so I'll start experimenting with them.

dont be scared... the worst that can happen is it breaks off and you have a newly topped plant....
watch it though....48 hours... your 90 degree angle will most likely be gone from the plant wanting to straighten out....
you will enjoy watching it...for sure... I know I do!

but check out the vids on the supper cropping sections of rollitup...
it helped me a lot (and I'm on my first grow too)

right before your clones go to flower...suppercrop em... week 3 or 4 depending on your rate of growth....

Do the uppers not the thick base. Research growth regulators if you want to use them. Plants bolt in flower. Indica x2, Sativa x3, hybrid a mix.

Useful info coho, as most people say that up to double. Since this crazy growth I've begun to question that myself.

How does this look? I didn't watch any videos, but I have seen and read a lot about it in the past and think it was in my big dumb head still lol. See what I mean about her later life stretch? Showing sativa traits for sure huh? I always keep the light 1-1.5 ft away from her. 6 weeks of veg and about 10 days of 12/12 so far. I feel like she's a freak! "That's a huuuuge bitch!" (from Deuce Bigallow Male Jiggalo). She's a POG Kush and the left in the closet is Chemdog. The right is WWxG13. They are younger

I am having this same problem! I have 2 sativa pheno O.G's that are getting way to big for my grow , thinking of how I could tie them down without fucking with my other clones light

Edit: These 2 O.G's are atleast 2.5\3ft tall in 1 ft pots and all of my other clones are indica pheno and growing short and bushy. Not working with a very large space either

Lol that's funny. Same problem same strain. POG Kush grows like a beast huh? Mine went from 2.5 ft to 3.5 ft in 8 days and the light wasn't far enough away to be the issue. Mines in a 5 gallon bucket. After doing this tie down I think the others should be done as well. It made me have like 7 tops exposed to the direct light now, and although I have read that the result will be ____ smaller tops than the 1 huge, I think the extra light on the tops will be worth it.
My advice, drill holes in the top of the pots and tie those things down with yarn. If you're in the same boat as me, you really got no other choice and may be happy you did it!
Got any pics of your Og's to share?
