Sooo it's more powerful? I'm confused why a 400 watt light would have a more powerful setting than 400 watts?Overdrive! Bulb manufacturers everywhere wish you to run the hell out of it!
You can't run any light harder than they're meant to, they just won't last as long. Super Lumens is probably just a catchy name for 420 watts.Sooo it's more powerful? I'm confused why a 400 watt light would have a more powerful setting than 400 watts?
Right ...well...why would a 400 watt light with a 400 watt bulb have a setting that is "super lumens " above the 400 watt setting? You can't run any light harder than they're meant to, they just won't last as long. Super Lumens is probably just a catchy name for 420 watts.
It's my ipower hpsis it an LED light? maybe the overdrive setting turns on some extra red ones or something... but it does sound a bit sus.
Cause it got you to buy it, .Right ...well...why would a 400 watt light with a 400 watt bulb have a setting that is "super lumens " above the 400 watt setting?
So you're saying it's bs?Cause it got you to buy it, .
No. Just saying it's probably just like 420 or so watts. The light will work and be a little brighter but it won't last quite as long. It also might change the spectrum. Most of those HPS/MH lights you're not supposed to use other wattages than what the bulbs made for. I know lots of manufacturers make adjustable ballasts, but I'm just telling you what I've heard about changing the wattage. It doesn't sound like it changes it a whole lot, but you should check it out. I haven't used a HPS for a long time.So you're saying it's bs?
I actually meant that Super Lumens setting is probably like 420 watts. But you're right about the 420 watt bulbs. The first one I ever used was a 420 watt Son Argo lamp. I probably spelled it wrong though,As pad mentioned there are 420w bulbs. Would I run them? No., unless my ballast was rated for 420w and designed to run those bulbs.
Lower heat in the tent? I ran my light at 150, 250 and 400. The heat gets higher as the wattage gets turned up.When you set on lower % the ballast is dumping current, and that creates more heat as well. No bueno
There use to be 430 watt HPS bulbs available as well.As pad mentioned there are 420w bulbs. Would I run them? No., unless my ballast was rated for 420w and designed to run those bulbs.
Son agro? Yep had the same one. Also don't know if I spelled it right. HahaI actually meant that Super Lumens setting is probably like 420 watts. But you're right about the 420 watt bulbs. The first one I ever used was a 420 watt Son Argo lamp. I probably spelled it wrong though,
There's all kinds of weird wattages. I still have 50w mh's I used to use for my aquariums. There use to be 430 watt HPS bulbs available as well.
Quick search of amazon says they still make them. Philips $125 bucks! Buy a decent LED fixture for that kind of money. There use to be 430 watt HPS bulbs available as well.
