Super Dry

Hey All, first post, first grow...

I am just trying to wrap my mind around drying and curing and it seems pretty simple. Just dry you buds to the desired dryness then leave them sealed in a jar a few weeks to cure before smoking.

Here is my question:

Once in a while I get bags with super dry nuggets. I love this, not only are you getting the most for you money witht he reduction of water weight, but flames just rip through them and I love the big hits.

How can I do this with weed that is grown? Would I just leave them out in the drying stage (before curing) until they are bone dry? Is there any problem with this?

I was hoping to dry it out as completely as I can then leave it in a jar at my cabin. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to dry weed to keep it this long would be appreciated.

Hi there, as i know, the buds have to contain a little quantity of water for a proper curing. Maybe you could do this normally, but keep those in jars for a longer time and keep opening them twice a day, every day until they are dry enough.

Cheers!

Residual moisture keeps the buds "alive" aver harvest. This residue, along with sealing in jars allows anaerobic bacteria to breakdown the chlorophyll. The repeated cycle of sealing>unsealing allows this proccess to be controlled.

Seal too wet = mold
Seal too dry = no cure
Seal when stems snap + open daily for 20-90 minutes + continue for 2-6 weeks = common cure
Seal when a little gummy inside + open 12/close 12 + continue till stems snap + open daily 20-90 minutes + continue 2-6 weeks = bliss

So if I wanted the end result to be the dryest possible buds, I would just continue on 20-80 min per day open until they were completely dry?

Yes or once the desired flavor is achieved via the cure, the buds can be put into a paper bag untill crisped to your liking.

once your buds are cured to your liking just let them sit out until desired crispness is achieved
