Sunlightshed cool cab fixes

My last grow also got too tall, so I had to remove the cloning shelf, drill 2 more holes in the top of the cabinet so I could hang the light from the ceiling to let the plants finish off, I vegged them too long before flowering and they shot right up, Those sativas eh, lol. That gained me a couple of feet. The shelf come in and out easliy enough as not bolted in or anything.:peace:
I had the exact same problem with my first grow, I didn't get the cab until my Juicy Fruit was over 18" tall (plus another 12" for the pot) and the Bush Master didn't help at all. The thing grew to the top of the cab, so I used weights to get them to stay down. I'm thinking of seeing if I can just move the shelf to the top of the cab instead of drilling holes in the top. It should be easy to move the spacers underneath them up a few notches.

What's the average yield of your grow that you guys get with your cab?

Curious. For those that changed the "grow top" of the reservoir, how did you cut the 3" holes? Tried a blade cutter and I'm lucky I have any fingers left. Presently, I have been covering the excess holes with aluminum foil which keeps the fogger heavy on the roots, but don't like the distribution of holes for optimal light.

On the yields, here's my experience off of 2 grows:
Grow #1 Single plant using bush master - 2.5 oz
Grow #2 5 plants, 1bush master during veg & multiple lower branch prunings - 8 oz

Also, I did use CO2 boost for both grows. So far, I am happy with the outcomes and am learning better plant management on each grow.

I do agree with the comments on the top shelf for cloning - good idea, bad execution. Am in the process of figuring out a do-it-myself clone/veg cab and using the cool cab for flowering only.

I used a new Exacto knife, if that is what you call it, lol.:peace:

Any one in here have a grow journal for their cab ?

I don't own one, but wanted to read about peoples experiences with them, and I'd rather not waste time asking a ton of questions that many of you have probably already answered.

I've found MILFs journal using the search feature, but I'm pretty sure I've seen other people document their grows too. Even if it isn't a journal, are there any other threads about these cabs (or other competing brands)?

Thanks in advance.

InaHurry .... After I finish this grow I plan on doing a new res top and I will use a 3" hole saw on a drill with a piece of wood underneath to make the holes..... Im thinking 6 holes would be enough not sure though.... I have to find a top that is the same ..... It would be interesting to see what hole pattern other people are using or going to use

Appreciate it BeachBum. I took Chiceh's advice on heating a heavy duty Xacto knife. Worked pretty well.
I made a 5 hole top spaced as far apart from each other as possible without leaving the light range. Would like to have more grow room, but it really gets crowded with 5 healthy plants.

yes it would be good to have both the 14 place top for non fem seeds and a 5 or 6 place top for fem seeds or clones ....... I started this my first grow on Jan 12th and I used all 14 places cause I figured that I would kill some from inexperience (killed 2) and then the male thing ... out of the remaining 12 I had 8 males now I have 4 bushy plants that cover the whole res .... I couldnt figure out why I had so many males ..... I had raised 28 seedlings before I got the cab so when I got everything I took 14 of the best looking plants and that is I think where I made my mistake because they say males grow faster and better and I used the best

i've got the mini cool cab. i was having a problem with droopy leaves. not enough oxygen. added an underwater pump for better circulation and it made a huge improvement.

my first grow didn't go well, but the second grow going ok. problem now is with vertical height. had to tie some plants down. better now because i think the stretch phase is over.

next grow will have to be a scrog i think.

3 plants with 24 days flowering now

Didn't your cab come with the fogger and water pumps? Mine did and that fogger is cool.:peace:

I let the fogger float around in the res. It gives off a cool red light in there, lol. The fog is great for the roots.:peace:

Quick question for you sunlight shed owners, sid you get these shipped to your home address or did you have it shipped somewhere else? Thinking about getting one but my only option is to get it shipped directly to my home. Any thoughts.

I went and picked it up. They are in the USA so I had to cross the border to do so. It was under a 2 hour ride so we made a day out of it. They do ship anywhere for ya but I felt better getting myself and saving the shipping costs. I did have to pay duty on it cominh back into Canada and they were asking me what it was for and such, but other than that no worries.:peace:

I had it shipped to Canada .... It took a long time to get here cause the people at ss took 2 weeks to get it shipped then when it got to the border they had sent the wrong paperwork and it was delayed for almost 2 more weeks ....I wasnt to happy with the shipping team there and when I was ordering it I had asked Chris how much border shipping with Canada they had and he said they shipped 3 a week to Ontario ....I had it come to my address and when it got here it was on a skid all wrapped in black plastic and very stealth ..... the driver even asked what it was cause he didnt know
