Summer begins.....

I was in Florida in February. We were sitting in a hot tub with a bunch of people from the States and jibber jabbering. One dude asked where we were from, I said Canada, closer to the US border. He says to his kids "they're from Canada, it's really cold where they come from". I laughed and said that, yes, in the winter it is stupidly cold. Summers are wicked though, anywhere between 90-100. He almost couldn't believe it. It's like the border is some kind of good weather barrier that keeps us in our igloos making hockey pucks out of frozen caribou droppings, something like that.

Same here. Spent the first 21 years of my life on the So Cal coast then moved to the desert.
Gonna be 115 here today.
I spent a lot of my youth in and around Upstate NY. A lot of those towns and small cities near The Adirondacks rarely get very warm. I remember people saying how TERRIBLE it would be if it reached 90 on a summer day.

That area isn't called 'Seven Years Winter' for nothing!
