Sulfur Deficiency

Stop posting bad information or making shit up.

Here are some facts for you..

Sulfur is a macro
No, you actually don't know sulfur was the main reason
Yes, 3 week old plants can drink 4 gallons in 4 days
No, you've never grown before
Yes, this is your first DWC grow
Yes, your clear air lines can encourage algae
No, you don't speak from experience

Happy Growing.

My question is... how are you telling him he was wrong when clearly what he did fixed the issue with his plants? What’s your thought process with that? How is he “making shit up” or posting bad info? He’s literally just posting what he did and how it helped his plants, which he looks at IN PERSON every day. Imagine thinking you know everything about someone’s grow when you clearly didn’t even read the post

Hello everyone! New DWC grower... new cannabis grower. I’m loving everything big I have to learn about with the plants and how each molecule reacts with one another!
Recently went on a trip left my girls for 4 Days, they were fed the day before I left (I didn’t add bloom, at the time I didn’t realize this was the only sulfur intake they’d get.)
Before I left she was already showing signs of sulfur deficiency, but early stages just looks like a nitrogen deficiency. Lack of sulfur, even though it’s a little amount causes your plant to be able to use the nitrogen you have available!
I have already fixed this with a chart I have and just wanted to share something straight forward people can look up when they aren’t sure if they have a sulfur deficiency!

notice the yellowing between veins on the leaves, also the red stems and veins. Again I just thought it was hungry. So when I got back in 4 Days this is what she looked like

As you can imagine I was freaking out. I didn’t know what was happening. But I did a bunch of research and found a chart which helped me realize it was a sulfur issue!

I changed the water added bloom which has sulfur and the color got better on newer leaves.

The color change back to a darker green only took 12 hours. She immediately felt better growing faster!
Hey,
I'm genuinely interested in what happened here.
For example you said "I didn’t add bloom, at the time I didn’t realize this was the only sulfur intake they’d get". What are you talking about here?

What are you feeding them, specifically (ml/G of each product, or save me the time and put it into this calculator please :) http://www.angelfire.com/cantina/fourtwenty/articles/profiles.htm at the bottom of the page).

You make it sound like you're saying whatever "veg" nutrients you feed with don't have any sulfur in them, which is pretty hard to believe. Did you mean you forgot to add "part bloom" of a three part or something? There's usually several sulfur sources in the base nutrients (potassium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, etc.

I'd be curious to know the elemental ppms you had been feeding (particularly sulfur) before, then after your change. Especially in regards to the purple streaks in the main stem - did you have that, doesn't look like it. Any more pics of stems would be appreciated.

Thanks man.

You’re awesome man! This is what I needed. I appreciate your kindness. Wasnt going to touch this site again.
Im using General Hydro trio. I was only adding micro and grow. (I’m aware that grow has sulfates.)
The bloom which I wasn’t adding was the only bottle that actually labels its sulfur content which is at 1%. the calculator already had one for them!
im feeding .5ml of each part as of now.
stems have the purpling! Here’s a pic.

can’t really see it because I have an iPhone 7 but the stems have purple streaks.

No problem, man.

I actually thought that might be what you meant; you didn't use one of the 3 parts or something. The "lucas" formula (ratio) is actually done with GH three part, using only micro and bloom (in a spefic ratio), or using maxibloom powder only (through veg and flower), and it can be made other ways too. Just fyi.
That calculator gives you back the actual elemental ppms of each element when you enter the percentage numbers from your nutrient bottle/bag/etc. You then get a "profile" of the actual ppm levels of each element. Could you post (copy paste the ppm numbers, or screen shot) what that looked like when you only feed micro and grow (forgot bloom), and also post what it was when you corrected it and added the bloom.

When you say the stems have purple streaks, are you talking about the petioles (the leaf stems, search term if you need a pic), OR are you talking bout the actual stem/main stem?

This too: https://medteknutrients.com.au/# go to grow info up top. Too much info, if you're into that.

Hm, ironically this is what you decided to be your first post? You're an idiot who didn't read my post stating facts. What's the thought process on how to single out and prove a single macro nutrient was a culprit? Did he add only sulfur and it fixed it? Nope, he didn't. All he did was add a feed that contained ALL nutrients, because all his plant needed was water and feed.

That information would lead to new people thinking their plants are suffering from sulfur specifically and find some way to increase that macro based on no evidentiary support from a guy who's growing his first mj plant ever.

I title that bad information. Someone who's never grown before telling me who's a hydro grower what a plant can or cannot drink in a span of time is, making shit up. Telling me sulfur isn't a macro, is bad information. Need I say more?

Typos happen and you’re still an asshole with a massively unchecked ego. The other guy that responded? An actual human being looking to help people, not make them feel inferior to make himself feel like a big man lmfao. I get it, you have a tiny dick and need to make up for it by acting like one. “Happy growing”. Don’t come back to this page unless you have a helpful and kind approach to TEACH someone, not MOCK them and bring other people here to bully them too.
