"will burning sulfur cause pm to receed? "

No.

From my limited experience sulfur burns do kill the PM. I did a burn and saw the sulfur particles "stick" to the PM and presumably kill it by turning into acid. PM residue showed on the leaves in form of death to the plant leaves. That is, wherever PM lived was now ruined by sulfur burn.

To me the disadvantage to sulfur burning is measuring dosage. As example, burn X milligrams until Y PPM are reached and hold for Z time. I really over did it and damaged the plants to the point of disaster.

On the other hand I read such praise for the burns that I did try it.

Good luck.

Smart ass lol. 2 burns done, no damage. Nothing new forming, just haven't seen any change in what was already there.

Do you have an actual burner?

I used a ceramic oil burner diffuser from the $ store w/tea light candles. The sulfur did melt and diffuse into the air. I looked at the leaves with 25x and saw the yellow clumps of sulfur.
