suicidal without weed

Mostly stress problems I have. Ironically enough 2 hours ago coming back from getting lunch (sober) someone almost sideswipes my new car, then flips me off... I cut them off, locked up the brakes, got out of the car, walked straight to theirs and front kicked their side mirror to shit. Turned around, got in my car, sped off with my dealer plates.

Sober isn't fucking safe.

and I've never done something like that since I used my streetbike as a daily driver
i feel like this sober but when im stoned i would say fuck you too buddy and never let it bother me

Dude, best way to cure depression: EXERCISE. I know, i know, that's not a very stoner-like idea, but it works. Endorphins are a great high, and they are free. I have been depressed, and it sucks finding motivation to start the exercise, but it really works. Also, avoid foods that give you blood sugar spikes, like processed foods. Good food and good exercise will help keep you level.

Yep, whenever I'm stoned I notice I don't even react. I just slow down and keep driving like nothing, jam to music. Sober I'm like "MOTHER FUCKER!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGH RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE"

My 7 times a week training in Krav Maga and Muay Thai have yet to solve my depression and stress issues.

Everyone's different I guess.

Switch it up. I love weightlifting, personally. And the simple things, like a long ass bike ride, or a long nature walk. Long sustained low stress activities like a long walk through the woods (with some herb) are great for depression. But, yea, everyone is different, these things usually work for me, but they might not work for you or others.

Therapy isn't a cure for bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is physiological and psychological in nature. You need to get to a psychiatrist, get diagnosed and get medication. My nephew struggles with Bipolar Disorder as does my mother. When he was in the psych ward for a suicide attempt he was told by the resident psychiatrist to try marijuana as a treatment. He is in Colorado so he actually has a card. He uses Sativa for the depressive episodes and indica for the manic episodes. So far it has been working for him. He has the same problem you do when he runs out. That's why you need to have a back-up plan.

Bipolar Disorder isn't something to play around with. Get to a good psychiatrist/psychologist and work with them. Trust me, with the right medications and coping tools you can a have depression free life. I have two relatives that are doing very well despite the Bipolar Disorder. Good luck. :)
He's already taking medication dude, why do you think the pharmaceutical industry is superior to nature? If cannabis eliminates your depression and suicidal impulses, keep using it! Who fucking cares if Dr. Phil or whatever ignoramous from the mainstream would say it's bad, fuck them! They're all just basically cops with suits on.

No this is good advice, fuck being a 'stoner'. 'Stoner' is just something to make us look bad and keep us down. Work out and then reward yourself with weed. Cannabis is good for your overall health, check out Dr. Bob Melamede PHD and his info on the endocannabinoid system.

i reached this thread after googling 'sucidial without weed' and just joined the forum right now. Ive always suspected i was bipolar but never got diagnosed by a psychiatrist because I dont feel like taking any pills...

weed is the only thing that normalizes me... I just smoked right now and feel fine.. but for the past two days ive been extremely suicidal/depressed..

this happens to me all the time ever since i was 15 (now 22)...

my question is: Should I keep using weed to balance me out (broke no $$)... or should i seek to get diagnosed with bpd?

Sorry for the long post

I recommend getting diagnosed. If you respond to lithium, which is cheap and good, your life will improve. Lithium and weed don't seem to interact badly. cn

Thanks for reply, I will try to see a psychiatrist..

funny thing is, when I was 19 i visited a psychiatrist overseas, and was diagnosed with depression, however I believe i was misdiagnosed...

should i try and convince them i am bipolar or how can they verify exactly if one has bpd?

I would tell the doc that you suspect you have bipolar. Leave the decision, and the treatment regimen, to her. Organize your arguments, but I would allow the doc to ask most of the questions, at least at first. Finding a doc is a contractor/customer relationship. Many but not all docs are good (meaning technically or in terms of attention). You're examining her just as much as you are getting examined. You can always request a second opinion. Don't rely on the first one being a winner, but don't doscount getting lucky the first time either. It's never simple. cn

Both, but make care seeking a Pro... the key is how much they Care over education. And do not let them lock you into Bipolar and don't self diagnose just be honest ;) But I believe you'll find weed is the best med!

I've never sympathized with suicide, go for it.:fire:
I think it's a fair choice. It's not fair to force somebody to go to a psychiatric hospital for months or possibly years for suicidal tendencies. If the person no longer wants to live then they don't have to and I won't stop them. I will try to change their views though. Sometimes my mind clogs and I start thinking about the easy way out, but after a bowl and some quiet time I realize that I'm just being ignorant to the possibilities of everything being alright in the end. I don't sympathize for suicidal people either but I don't want them to kill themselves nor do I even want them to have those thoughts because it truly does suck.

You're a dick btw.

Study: Fewer suicides seen in medical marijuana states

By Paul Armentano, NORML

The enactment of statewide laws allowing for the therapeutic use of cannabis is associated with reduced instances of suicide, according to a discussion paper published in January by the Institute for the Study of Labor in Bonn, Germany.

Researchers at Montana State University, U of Colorado, and San Diego State U assessed rates of suicide in the years before and after the passage of statewide medical use laws.

“The total suicide rate falls smoothly during the pre-legalization period in both MML (medical marijuana law) and non-MML states. However, beginning in year zero, the trends diverge: the suicide rate in MML states continues to fall, while the suicide rate in states that never legalized medical marijuana begins to climb gradually,” wrote the authors.

They determined that this downward trend in suicides in states post-legalization was especially pronounced in males. “Our results suggest that the passage of a medical marijuana law is associated with an almost 5% reduction in the total suicide rate, an 11 percent reduction in the suicide rate of 20- through 29-year-old males, and a 9 percent reduction in the suicide rate of 30- through 39-year-old males. ”

Authors theorize that limited legalization of cannabis may “lead to an improvement in the psychological well-being of young adult males, an improvement that is reflected in fewer suicides,” suggesting that, “The strong association between alcohol consumption and suicide-related outcomes found by previous researchers raises the possibility that medical marijuana laws reduce the risk of suicide by decreasing alcohol consumption. ”

Researchers concluded, “Policymakers weighing the pros and cons of legalization should consider the possibility that medical marijuana laws may lead to fewer suicides among young adult males. ”

“High on Life: Medical Marijuana Laws and Suicide,” is available online at: ftp.iza.org/dp6280. pdf.

Heyoooo! I'm manic depressive and after going through all the pharmaceutical BS I decided that smoking weed WAS my cure. For awhile. But then I had an episode and decided that I didn't want to smoke weed anymore. lol Plus, my tolerance was through the roof considering i was smoking a couple grams of budda a day. So i started looking into alternatives. I now take 5 mg of lithium aspartate, 15mg of st. johns wort and some omega 3 a day. It's all natural from vitamin cottage and I feel freaking great. I've been doing this for quite awhile now and hardly have any episodes. Trust me, there are numerous alternatives to the shit that they give you in clinics. Try those as well as chronic and i bet the next time you run out of green you'll be just fine. :)

Those are very very subtherapeutic doses of lithium. Typical daily lithium dose is closer to a gram of the carbonate, and the therapeutic window is narrow. cn
