Sugget Fan and Filter for 2x2x3 closet

Hi dudes,
Noob would-be-grower here. I live in a small flat and when my neighbour listens to music, I do to!
So having quietest fan and best active carbon filter are crucial to me.
First I thought I use computer fans but apparently they are not able to suck enough air from carbon filters. Correct me if I'm wrong. So I guess I need to look for a quiet inline fan.
I don't mind paying a bit more to get the best, preferably ones that can be bought on ebay in the EU.
Really appreciate your informed suggestions.

P.S it is going to be a 2 x 2 x 3 feet growing tent, with lamps making ~250W.

I have a 4 inch vortex with a can 9000 in a 3x3x5 space.I sleep in the same room as my tent and have no noise issues. One thing though with a space as small as you have, best bet will be to run the filter outside of your tent. You have very limited head room and with lighting its going to be awful tight IMO

EDIT:Perhaps you should look into a DIY smaller size carbon filter to run with a lower power fan? Just an idea.

I was thinking about making a DIY filter and even bought the active carbon. But I guess it never become as good as factory made. That's great that you could make such a silent tent. How is your ducting settings mate? Do you use a duct muffler, speed controller etc?
I looked at ebay for Vertex fans. Unfortunately all of these fans are from the US hence cost a fortune to ship to the EU. Do you know of any alternatives that are as quiet as Vortex? Thaks

I have a 4 inch "Stealth series" fan as well which I find just as comfortable on a speed control.Really not sure on if they are in your country either though.Have you looked into the Can fans? I do not have first hand knowledge with them but know many people have great things to say about them.

I do not use a duct muffler just the speed control and insulated ducting.Whatever you settle on, if noise still seems to be an issue, you can make a simple insulated box to put your fan in which will get rid of virtually all sound problems.

My nzxt 200mm pc fan scrubs my smell in my 2x4x5. I cant smell anything unless i open up the tent. Its 32db too quiet. Its 165cfm

In a tent and a grow space that small, i can tell you from personal experience, it WILL get too hot in the summer time. Get the 4 inch inline fan, they cost about 100$ US. Step 1: Connect it directly to your light via a "Cool Tube". Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit.

The fan will connect up to a carbon filter and "pull" air through it which will help with the smells and then it can be connected to a cool tube like I was saying to keep the heat away from your grow room and light bulb which will allow your plants to grow incredibly close to the light without getting burned. And since we payed attention in school and we know that light follows the inverse squared law; everytime you cut the distance to your light source in half, you get ~400% more energy. yay science.

So anyways...

if you want powerful fans that are loud use can-fan,couple others worth mentioning, but too loud for you.
and if you want a good reliable quiet fan use. Solar and Palau (only fan I found to be a good combo powerful yet quiet, and durable)

Edit
the 4inch solar and Palau should work for you,I believe 160-170CFM

I ended up buying a S&P TD 350/125 silent 5" fan with a Rhino filter. But since 165-224 cfm of the fan is too much for my 12' tent, I prefer to reduce the speed, hoping that this also reduce the noise. It is stated in the fans catalogue that the noise is 20db from 3m, which is the most quiet that I could find, but nonetheless I still find the hum noticeable from a few meters (on bare fan), even at low speed.

So now looking for speed controller.
One thing that I see frequently suggested is the UK420 fourm is 'SMS COM twin controller' but since I will use passive intake I guess I can go for something simpler with the same functionality and also silent. What kind of speed controller+ thermometer do you use/suggest?

I think with that fan and a speed control you will run into some pretty bad buzzing/humming noises trying to run it even lower than its lowest setting-That is just what I have heard from others so hopefully it works out for you.
