Suggestions on training and yield.

It's not necessary to top outdoor plants at all, with most strains there is no advantage regarding yield.

There are exceptions but with most strains when grown outdoor you are simply changing from producing fewer larger colas, to a greater number of smaller colas, the yield in the end is unchanged.

It is sometimes advantageous to top and or train to take better advantage of your growing space. But, it's not like indoors where you are trying to get all your plants to be the same height, or spread them out for better light distribution. The sun is far less directional, the sun moves around and its light is more evenly dispersed, which means there is no compelling reason to top outdoors unless it is to allow plants to fit a space better.
That's my opinion anyway.

Your plants are looking good.
Thanks and I'll take that into account it makes complete sense. I guess I was getting ahead of myself with thoughts of having a well trained plant. But if it's not needed outdoors I'll just make sure the limbs are supported when they get heavy.

As they get bigger I generally remove the first, bottom-most, set of branches that are usually tiny with a few pale leaves and produce nothing as far as bud is concerned, to focus energy on the more productive parts of the plant and to maintain good airflow. That's generally all the training that I do, and even that is not necessary.

I've never grown outside beyond vegitation, latitude problem, but all being equal your opening the plant up to the light.

If something is flat it catches all the light all of the time, like east and west is lit up all day, or something :-)
