Suggestions on a decent PH tester?

The electrode probably needs cleaning and reconditioning, soak overnight in a hot cleaning solution, then recalibrate.
If that doesn't improve performance, replace the electrode.

Wouldnt surprise me if it is tired. I only use it indoor in the winter.
The storage solution was crystallized when i rinsed it off this year

It's not like the pH has to be tested daily. I test it twice a grow when I change my nute strength.
I test my PH ...2x a week an flip my rez every week. That keeps me locked into the root zone.
I feed 400 - 1600 ppms thru out the life cycle.
I check ppms every week to measure uptake.
I have seen proper PH affect ppm uptake in a major way.
Thats why i do it...

If I grew that way I'd have a pH meter as well........the best one made. But I grow in coco........and the OP never indicated how he grows.

The PH pen is quick....
Dip ...get a reading. Then PH up or down.
Dip...double check. Move on .

The liquid testers is slow...
Take a sample...drip the tester...check the color. PH up or down...take a sample...drip the tester.
Check the color
It goes on forever.
But it will get the job done

Ive spelled it out like this before lol. Except advocating for the drops. I dont feel like it right now but in short, you should be calibrating your probe. Then rinse, test. Then rinse and store with fluid and dont let it dry. Maintain the paper strip that sticks out by pulling more out as needed and if its damaged or gone so is the meter.

Need to routenely clean probe with cleaning solution. All these fluids arent cheap. You have to wait moments to get a reading where as drops are instant. I used to only complain that the color can take a while to read.

I dont have that issue anymore. Different lighting gives different results but if you keep doing it its fine. Yellow with tad orange is 5.8, yellow is 6.0. Yellow with tad green is 6.2, mostly green is 6.5 and green is beyond 6.5.

Anyway its about the same or little less effort as meter but you need new meter 50-100$ every 6 months to a year if lucky. Got to worry about manufactures changing quality or getting duds. Fragile they cant take impact.

Thats just off the top my head. Its time to get high. Peace lol.

Coco is not like dwc...
Its slower...
I have tried it..
I got some awesome kale like veg
Dark fiberous ultra leafy green plants.
Its just too slow for me

Dwc is streamline
