I ordered tangerine dream and got a few other freebies...Problem is, out of 5 that I have had in papertowels (never cracked) so I put them all in soil under 6 26w cfls. They have been in the soil for close to a week now and nothing has popped through yet..should I consider them as duds?

Will Attitude do anything about it? If so what is the best way to approach it. I understand that the tangerine dream has issues and I have 3 seeds left but neither of the 1st 2 popped so I am concerned and the freebies also did nothing? Seems like I spend $75 for nothing and am a little irritated.

+rep for any help:wall::sad:

How long did you leave em? I havent had a seed not germinate for me in 4+ years growing(mostly freebies from tude), just soak em in a cup of 5.5 ph distilled water at 85 degrees for 24-36 hours, guaranteed crack.

Well first I had them in papertowels in baggies for 5-6 days. 1 TD and grapefruit cracked a little so I put them in rapid rooters. After 5 days of nothing, I took them out and put directly into soil. So all 5 have been in soil for about 6 days and none of them have broke the surface...Should I take them out of soil now and do the 5.5 ph route? thanks +rep

So you took the cracked and non cracked seeds all out of the rapid rooters and placed them all in soil?
I'm always a little hesitant to dig around for my seeds but if your confident you can do it without harming them I would locate all of them and take the ones that arent cracked yet out and place in the 5.5 water and grab the ones that did crack and put em back in a paper towel in a baggie and wait till they have longer taproot tails to put in soil. In my method the heat is the most important part, make sure you have enough heat and most seeds cant resist cracking, I use my digital cable box or other electronic that puts out heat. If you dont feel like digging around I would just keep the soil wet around the seeds and make sure room temps and humidities are higher than normal till they break the surface, give em a week more with this method

Yeah I'm surprised you've had that many problems with germinating. I just simply put my seeds in a paper tower, run them under water, and place them into a ziplock for 3 days and usually all the seeds have cracked. E-mail the company and see if they can do anything, but I doubt it was the seeds.

I have never had this problem before either so I am frustrated because like I said, money is money and I would have hoped to have a better turn out..never had a problem germing with seeds from tude...

Try telling them what happened idk if they can refund you cause of international laws and stuff but they may be able to send some new seeds with a discount or for free just get on them and tell them you got a bad batch they dont want to have bad rep so they might throw you somethin free too but be polite !!! or else they may just think your trying to scam them
