Hello all!

So here's the deal, Im purchasing an hps set up next Tuesday but wanted to get some input from the pros before I do anything.

I'm purchasing either a 250w HPS Lumatek digital ballast, Solar grow bulb, econowing reflector with socket and lamp cord(not vented) for $250 OTD.. Is that resonable?

My grow area is 4' long by 2' feet wide, about 8 feet tall.

1st ??.. I will be using a 20" fan for ventilation, is this good enough for that space? I cant make holes since I rent but I'm planning on leaving the closet door craked open a couple of inches for ventilation+ the fan..

Should I just go with the 400w? My main concern is the heat, thats why im thinking about the 250w. The closet is in my room so I dont want it to get too hot even with the fan running.

Please help me out guys! I saw the 250hps club subforum and it got me all PUMPED!!:hump:

Personally I would go for the 400, but power is cheap where I live.
Are you going for the digital to save power?

just go for broke and get the 400w. you will thank yourself in the end.

heat issues can always be fixed.

i have a 400w also in a closet grow and it's perfect and i have no ventelation.

Even without a digital ballast that 400w will only cost you about $20/month with 13cents/KWHR
And the included links i gave includes ventilation for the light, so temps shouldn't be an issue unless your worried about exhaust temp from the lights, which should be going outside of the grow room anyways.

bro i hear you on the heat issue... imo i would go with a 250watt. you don't have a way to get rid of the air but to move it around. you don't want to get a 400 and be too hot then you are stuck. you can always get a big light and then go small if that is an issue. it all depends on how much you want to grow. 250 will get the job done
