Success using only PART of Vegamatrix's line?

Hello all - I was recently gifted:
1 quart of Vegamatrix "Grow"
1 quart of Vegamatrix "Bloom" &
1 quart of Vegamatrix "Boost"
Anyone have success using only thise 3 parts of the line? I KNOW its badass (for me, anyway) when the entire line is used... & I do just fine using only Cyco's "Grow & Bloom (a&b)" & their potash booster, but I know that Vegamatrix is just... different. So, Im not sure if just using their "grow, bloom, booster" products alone, will work well, like it does with the cyco line.
But yah.. the hydro shop guy told me if I want to be successful with Vegamatrix, I HAVE to use at LEAST what comes in their starter kit... but I dont know if he is FOS, & was just trying to make a sale, or if he is correct. I def DONT want to buy another 3 or 4 bottles of Vegamatrix nutrients... would rather sell the quarts that I got for free, if they wont finish well on their own.
Any thoughts/advice appreciated, greatly & genuinely. This run is in Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil (with Mykos & ~20% extra perlite by volume). I KNOW I can meet/surpass my goals with just a grow, bloom, pk booster (&cal mag if needed) feed schedule... just not sure is VEGAMATRIX will work this way, because of the fairly unique nature of the feed (from anything IVE used, anyway). Thoughts?

Why did you switch? Hell. I've run the cyco a+b+potash for years now. The only thing besides is some silica and I use hydroplex in the last few weeks instead of the potash.

Eh, Ive been hearing a lot of good things, sposed to make it taste/burn better. Plus, got a ton free. But, still... theyre small enough to transplant to coco and go with the cyco I already have... but I'd like to try *using just the three nutes of* the Vegamatrix as well.

Im just tired of paying good money for something, only to do a run without it & see little/no difference. Id like to run it as lean as possible without shrinking down the yield or reducing trich production...

I run the cyco at 450 ppm (in veg) and 550 ppm (in flower) or .9-1.1 ec.
This is all I run in vegView attachment 3999979
And flowerView attachment 3999980 The last 2 weeks I replace the potash with hydroplex to finish. And I get these.

Do you find that the dr repair makes a real difference? Its funny - I do almost the same thing, except for the dr repair, anyway. I love the cyco line with coco. Nice pics, too :) I need to get a camera.. or a real phone :p
I went through a starter box of vegamatrix - never really used the foliar feed, but I did stick with the rest. I STILL havent used the foliar feed. Anyway, I was gifted these 3, 1-quart bottles of grow, bloom & boost, & was wondering if I could get away with the same thing I do with cyco - using only the grow , bloom & booster.

In my experience I've never found a need to foliar anything.
The only reason I use the Dr. Repair is because I use RO without a supplemental cal-mag product, is for the iron. If I was using a cal-mag product I'd eliminate the Dr. Repair altogether.

Don't know as I've never used the vegamatrix. I have always been a keep it simple type of person. Base nutrients + micros, slight pk boost weeks 3-6 ( only 30-40 ppm).

The cal-mag thing is so interesting to me... idk what it is, but I rarely need cal mag in soil. Guessing its the water or the Fox Farms, but I see other ppl needing cal mag who use it, so idk. But ok... thanks for the info. Im similar in my use of the basics. I think Im just going to go for it, & if I need to supplement, I'll deal with it . Ive grown with straight soil, water - only... I dont know why Im tripping now lol

I use just their big and sticky after my super soil starts to run out of steam. It's a good line I've ran the full line up minus the cal/mag mainly due to my well water is top notch

Calmag should be used in the preparation of coco PRIOR to using it.
You will have much less need for it consequently. THis is because when you use it as a buffer it drives off P and Na, both which are at excessive levels in coco.
When you don't do this, every time you feed your plants the above process is going to happen and instead of having Ca and Mg available to the plants, they get bound to the coco and the excessive P and Na becomes available and harms your plants.

You don't have this problem outdoors. If you have citrus trees in pots, they probably need Epsom salts for the magnesium and chelated iron as they go through it very fast.
Calcium is important, but at the same time, it makes most other elements less available, so it is important to not add it to excess.

Epsom salt... interesting source of cal mag. But yah... Ill admit Im concerned with the yield coming down with vegamatrix. I KNOW it produces quality... but the yield question is real. Im considering adding a taste of pk booster to the vegamatrix line... Ill have to do some homework, i spose

Well there is no calcium in, but it has magnesium, you probably have enough calcium, check for tiny brown spots for deficiency of Ca

Oh believe me... i know all about cal mag deficiency :( Ill use it if I have to... but Idk... iv made a concerted effort to simplify. Im growing for myself alone, dont need ridiculous yields. But quality, potency, effect are DEF important to me. Its my medicine & has to be strong.

Which reminds me... anyone else see a spike in frostiness when switching from hid to full spectrum led?

Gorgeous & yummy!
I'll admit Iv noticed increased frostiness, can see em just piling up, under the loop. Didnt often see the double rails of trichs on leaf so low down the canopy, as Ive seen recently with a friends cob/qb combo... made me jealous & is why I got one too hahaha
But I def agree... HID for the vast majority of my life. Still a fan of hid in the right situation. A glass hood w/air cooling is the way to go in an open room grow. But for tents... Im super impressed with these hlg qb288s & efficiently run 3590 & vero29 cobs for Scrog tent grows. Only growing for personal, though, so most interested in quality, so long as I hit my minimum yield goal.
