Subools beans, fact vs fiction for newbies by newbie

I consider myself a marijuana growing newbie. I never grew anything until 2010 when I got my MMJ card before. With my first grow I wanted to find quality medicine so I went with many strains which was much harder but in the end i want to grow myself the best stuff possible. I had the time and I can't afford to pay street prices for pot I don't know is grown safely and I don't get to choose quality.

I grew Barney's Farm, Flying Dutchmen, Greenhouse, Seedsman, DNA on my first grow with one seed of each strain to find what was kind bud. some impressed me and some did the exact opposite. Finally on my online hunt for dankness i asked in a chatroom what is the best, and someone (went by the name Superdank) told me to try Subcool. Of course being a newbie I said "But his stuff isnt' femenized!". A Newbie grower like myself did not want to have to grow a plant in veg for months only to find out it was a male. I'm new to growing, 2 month veg seemed like an eternity to me. but I hunkered down, went through the list and finally chose The Flav since i'm a fan of the sativa high.

One Newbie to another, that flav was the most amazing high myself and a few friends of mine had ever had in our newbie non grower ways. After that I was lucky enough to corner the overworked Subcool in a chatroom and ask him what strains I should try since flav wasn't his flagship. He told me to give vortex a shot, and if I had the chance Pandoras Box (which will be in my next grow). So I grew vortex and jack the ripper. (as much as i am in love with Vortex, i still love flav, but flav is for sativa head high lovers.)

I wanted to answer that age old question, are Subcools seeds anywhere near as good as his pictures or descriptions. My newbie answer, yes absolutely hands down he is as legit as anyone i've ever seen! The vortex is amazing, Jack the Ripper is a headf**k in a great way. Put it this way, I have never had a problem with any of subcools strains, they have always performed the best out of my garden of variety. His smells and flavors have always been top of the line and smell closer to candy then pot (which is an absolutely great thing!).

As a newbie I come onto this forum and post about my experiences, then i'm flooded with messages from a guy going on to tell me how terrible Subcools gear is, how its overrated and how subcool is a rip off pollen chucker. I responded to the guy telling him my experiences were all great, then he went on to say that Subcool releases F2's and doesn't know what he's doing yada yada yada which just reminded me of being a sysop back in the early 90s on ftp bbs's (remember those?) and how every sysop in the world was always being told by users that they were doing it wrong.

From what I've studied, Subcool not only puts in hunting and breeding work to release what I consider top of the line genetics (they have the amazing growth power of my Barneys Farm stuff, but with an added bonus of amazing flavors, smells, and much much better highs imho). Subcool also gives away a lot of his work for free to people who really need it (so don't go beggin him for seeds you damned mooch!)

I write this to the newbie who wants to know what to order and grow to be happy with their selection at the end when they are smoking the work they did. If you grow Subcool's beans, you will be very very happy come time to smoke your bowl. That being said, I do not grow only his stuff as I want to find that elusive perfect strain in everyplace I can, but i will say, i'll never grow without at least 1 of my plants being a subcool strain again (just to guarentee myself amazing kind bud if the other brands are bunk).

I write this because I wish someone had told me this when I was a newbie then I wouldn't have had to go thru a jar of that terrible no high greenhouse cheese, or experience those trippy but not at all euphoric barneys farm strains. Dont get me wrong, barneys farm is not bad marijuana at all, its very potent but i just have never found the highs anywhere near as euphoric as subcools stuff.

Lots of haters out there who judge Subcools stuff badly because in the end they don't want someone else to be successful at something they want to do, even though they lack the actual work ethic to produce the dankness of subcools gear. Go on pick n mix and order a few seeds of some strains (i recommend vortex but all his stuff so far has proven to be amazing), grow it pay attention to how easily it grows, how amazing it smells, and how happy the high is. Then I think like me you'll always have subcool seeds going in your garden as well.

Haters, proceed with your hating. I have never been given anything from Subcool, nor do I have any vested interest in helping or harming him. My interest is in helping that grower who was like me a year ago in wadeing through the bull***t to free themselves to grow quality medical marijuana. 3 words i'd use to describe Subcool's gear, Candy, Sexy, Euphoric.

Just realized that Subcool has turned marijuana into Jelly Bellys. :) Bowl of sweet sweet variety candy! Smelling any of his strains will make your nose feel like your mouth just bit into a handfull of jellybellys. Thats how sweet my Querkle going now smells. (and how sweet my JTR, Vortex, and Flav have all been!). I am sure someone will argue that Subcool didn't create these strains from scratch, but rather took already super successful strains and then bred them together many times to create his amazing stuff. I say that sounds like he did it the right way. No programmer in the world ever disses software because someone already used pre-written libraries. Or that Stephen Hawkings (who would benefit from Subcools gear) is a fraud because he simply built up upon already written mathmatical equations in physics rather then just figuring it out for himself. Humanity takes greatness and makes it better (at least when they work towards benefiting humans), because that gives you the best results in the end. Who is saying cars are a terrible mode of transportation because they just built upon the concept of the wheel that cavement invented first? If you ask me Subcool did the absolutely right thing in creating strains from high high quality strains and then making them even better.

I plan on picking up some of Mz.Jill's Jilly Bean

Jill was lucky enough to be gifted this amazing Orange Skunk and they day we smoked the finished bud we knew we had to outcross it with our Space Queen male. You don’t really have to be a master breeder to figure out Orange and Pineapple Mango will be a good combination. The resulting outcross is remarkably stable and is close to a 50/50 representation of the parents. Topped only once Jilly Bean grows into a nice short bush with lots of side branching and multi heads. Flavours range from Orange, Tango, Candy, Mango, and Apple. The cross works really well in SOG or SCROG.. Very large stems and huge top colas make this an easy strain to grow in any medium.
We had 5 females in our bud room and 4 could be clones theyare so similar, same height same growth speed and all have that Dank Orange smell. Very good mood elevator and general euphoria are experienced while high on this cross. Jilly Bean cannabis seeds produce lime green with vibrant orange hairs with temperature drops, it can turn a deep burgundy to maroon.

just a quick update, I smoked up a Mexican co-worker, who has been smoking all his life (duh !), with my Jilly Bean. He said he was high for nearly 4 hours that night   :blsmoke:
I gave him some seeds I made of Jilly Bean X Mazar I Shariff to tryout, hopefully I'll have an update in 3 months of how that is. (I had no males of Jilly Bean to use)
Have anymore of these?
