Subcool Super Soil and pot size

Unless I'm mistaken I read in Subcools Soil 101 thread that his SS wouldn't work with containers under 7 gal. Why is this? I want to use 5gal, something like it wouldn't last through the entire grow? I will only be vegging for 4-6 weeks then to 12/12. Any insight is appreciated,

i used a 10 gallon bag with super soil for a 6 month outdoor season, so i dont see why you couldnt use a 5 gallon for 3 months, i would test it with a few plants before you did a full grow ( diffrent strains will like more/less supersoil-topsoil so its not a bad idea to do a test grow anyway) just my 2 cents.

Only reason is because some strains will run out of "juice" before the end of their growing cycle.
