Hey RIU whats up? I lurk every so often but I haven't posted on here in quite a while (prolly since last year's outdoor). 2010 I had like 15 plants, 8 strains and got like 12 lbs or something. Anyway, i'm back with my 2011 backyard garden. Every year I say i'm only gonna grow 2 or 3 strains, but I always get too many tasty clones and end up with like a dozen strains and only a couple plants of each...Well this year is no different lol. Im running a total of 7 strains and only have 21 plants. I have 4 Master Kush, 4 Purple Kush, 3 Headband, 3 Sour Diesel, 3 Purple Diesel, 2 Cheese, and 2 Afwreck. The Cheese and Afwrecks are mother plants kept alive for like over a year, and the others are pickups from various Bay Area/Norcal dispensaries. I also have 2 brand new clones that I picked up to turn into mothers this Winter - I got Querkle (which I hear nothing but good things about) and a cross between some local breeder's pride and joy, Devil (tastes like vanilla, supposedly) and Jilly Bean.

Well I won't have pictures of the plants until tomorrow but heres a couple pics from last year. Anyway ill put up pics of everything tomorrow morning after I water. Thanks for reading, yall. Peace!

Hey everybody! Like I said I would, I took some pics this morning. They are not the best quality (cellphone pics) but hey its something to get my grow thread started! kyle - thanks yeah last year turned out great...I had low expectations this year because I was out of the country and didn't plant until kinda late (planted from June 15 to around July 15), but everything seems to have caught up and is growing nicely. I hope to do about as well as last year. There's a gallon milk jug in some of the pics for reference size.

The one is a kind of map I made on MS paint of my back yard. Everything is pretty well labeled but the black circles are container plants and the white ones are in the ground. Also everything's pretty much to scale, like the bigger circles in the diagram are bigger holes/pots in real life.

Plants - 1. Afwreck 2. Afwreck 3. Master Kush 4. Sour Diesel (2 plants) 5. Headband, (2 plants) 6. Purple Kush 7. Master Kush 8. Master Kush 9. Cheese 10. Cheese 11. Purple Diesel 12. Purple Kush 13. Purple Kush 14. Purple Kush 15. Master Kush 16. Purple Diesel 17. Sour Diesel 18. Purple Diesel 19. Headband

Nice I didn't see the Querkle in the line up ?
Yeah I forgot to get pics of the Querkle and Devil x Jilly Bean. They are inside under a 400w MH at the moment and are only about 6 inches tall, so ill put some pics up when they look a bit more respectable. But those are just gonna be mother plants to make clones all Winter and run a little indoor setup during the off season. Ill probably start a thread in the indoor section in the next couple weeks when I get the room re-built (already build a room and did indoor, then decided against it and tore it down lol).

oh and doublejj - Thanks man I've lurked your threads for years you're a great inspiration for lots of people on this board. Ill be keeping an eye on your outdoor this year for sure. Thanks again have a good one man!

Heres a couple pics of the tiny Querkle and Devil x Jilly Bean clones that are bound for motherhood. Also, after doing some internet research, im wondering if this cross I have is actually of a local breeder's making, like the lady @ the dispensary said, or if its the Devilberry x Jilly Bean by Blazaholic? If so, that stuff looks super dank. Anyway, I threw in a shot of the garden after I watered this morning and plucked some dead leaves.

Hey RIU whats happenin? I'm back to post some shots I took this morning after watering. All the plants are looking pretty good...finally getting into some serious budding! :eyesmoke: I have quite a few strains budding pretty hard, and quite a few that are noticeably behind. The Master Kush and the Cheese are looking like they won't be done until like the first or second week of November :( The Afwreck, Purple Kush, Sour D and Headband should be finished the middle to the end of October. The Purple Diesel is the farthest along, and should be done by the middle of October. God I hope it doesn't rain in NorCal until AT LEAST Halloween!! I'll post a few bud shots of the Purple D and the Sour D momentarily. Anyway, here are a few random pics. Sorry for quality. What can I say...cellphone pics ;) Enjoy!

Here are some macros of the Purple Diesel buds. Again, sorry for the cellphone quality. Even with the crappy camera you can kinda see the purple in the buds. Trust me, this shit is a true purple - its still like a month away from finishing and its already half green/half royal purple. Pretty crystally too compared to other purple strains I have grown. Absolutely shitting on my Purple Kush plants and its ten times frostier than my GDP last year. It also has that classic "purple" smell...if that makes any sense lol. Kinda like candy and fruit mixed with my wife's perfume.

And here are the macros of the Sour D buds. Before I say anything, let me tell you that YES I know I burned the shit outta them ok?! Lol im not sure if Sour D is particularly sensitive to nutes, but its the only plant out of 7 strains that burns EVERY time I feed. Despite the slight nutrient burn, the buds are growing very nicely. In my experience, Sour D is more of an indoor strain...I have never really seen Sour D grown outdoors. I have a feeling that this is one of those strains that just grows at a nice, even, slow pace until the last couple weeks of flowering, then BAM it just chunks up. Well, im hoping so anyway :) The Sour D already has a fair amount of crystal and already reeks of that signature sour smell. Nothing against indoor buds, but I can't wait to smoke some bomb OUTDOOR Sour Diesel!

Hello RIU! Time to put up some new pictures from this morning. I only took shots of the buds that are starting to chunk up. DANG I just wish stuff would hurry up and ripen! The colas on the Headband and Sour D are starting to get bigger, and the Master Kush and Cheese are coming along very nicely. I figure the Purple Diesel will be done first - probably 2-3 more weeks...shoot I might even let her go longer if the purple coloring just goes wild after a few cold nights :)

Well ill start small and go bigger. Here are a few pics of the Master Kush plants and a handful of bud shots. The trichs on this plant are so crazy looking - they sparkle like none I've ever seen. Cant wait to see how they look in 5 or 6 weeks when its actually done lol.

Here are the two small Cheese plants. Not sure exactly what type of Cheese (UK Cheese, Exodus Cheese, Blue Cheese, Big Buddha Cheese, etc.) But I grew the same cut last year and it was definitely a hearty Cheese strain. The plants are small but the way the buds are growing, you can just tell that these are gonna produce. Last year I had only one Cheese plant that was slightly larger than either of these individually and I pulled a half lb easily. So im hoping for about a half from these two little guys. Even if I dont get a great yield, I know it'll be good smoke because it already REEKS of stinky cheese.

Bud shots: Notice the long, crazy white pistils on these buds. So cool looking!

"I think I'm Paul Pierce, I think I'm Rondo, high off that HEADBAND you dying on that hydro."
-Curren$y Spitta

This stuff is rapper weed lol. It cracks me up when rappers name-drop weed strains in their raps. Everyone raps about OG or Sour D, and now apparently Headband is popular amongst the weed smoking crowd at the BET Awards as well. Being from NorCal, I have long known about the 707 Headband, but only ever seen it grown indoors. Here are a couple shots of my outdoor Headband.

The buds are just now starting to get big and, although they still seem airy, they're bending branches down big time with their weight. It looks and smells VERY similar to the Sour Diesel that I have growing next to it. The only difference is a slightly more subtle smell (as opposed to the super loud sour-fuel smell of the Sour D). Its also about a week to ten days behind the Sour D in maturity. I assume this can be attributed to a slightly longer flowering time of one of the Kushes in the Headband cross, but I don't know for sure. Anyhow, it looks bomb. So check it out :)

Last but most certainly not least is the Purple Diesel. Looking at these buds makes me both extremely happy and full of rage. Happy because the buds look so gosh damned beautiful and raging because I'm pissed off at myself for not keeping a mother plant of this strain. And of course the dispensary I got it from no longer deals with that breeder so I guess I'm SOL! Anyway, this chronic ass bud gets purple-er every single day. So frosty and beautiful....*drool*....Oh shoot sorry I forgot you were there. I hope it finishes in the next two weeks or so. I said by the middle of Oct, so if I can get it out a few days early - like the 10th or 12th, ill be really happy. There are three different plants and bud shots from each. C'mon girls, finish up strong!!!
