Strongest strain you have ever smoked?

I can't remember? I've had some strains that didn't feel like shit after the first bowl, but then it's the next day, Sannie's Sugar Punch was one of those.

In 1989 I was a college student. My buddy and I began a 10yr run growing on his family farm. We ordered a skunk #1 from the SeedBank in Amsterdam. Must have taken 5/6 weeks but they arrived in a plain brown wrapper. We ended up cloning and having some incredibly lucky harvests….we lost a few plants to deer or other wildlife but chopped way more.
The summer we graduated we were moving out of our house that we had rented for the last 3 yrs. At the time the weed scene was totally dry.
We always ran out of our grow well before our Oct harvest and this yr was no exception. It had been weeks since we had anything to smoke other than bang leaf and bowl resin.
My grow buddy and I were moving his huge sectional couch from the house to the Uhaul truck. As we lifted it we heard a “Ka-thunk” sound of something dropping from inside the sofa to the ground. I had no idea what it was, but his eyes lit up the size of silver dollars.
He reached down and damned if it wasn’t a Tupperware container completely full of some of our best buds from the previous fall. Well over 2oz of it. Needless to say we were stoked. This container was there as a result of a couple of college kids suddenly having 2/3 lbs of manicured dry kind bud. We gave it away, sold some, cooked with it, smoked it everyday, and occasionally lost track of it.
That night there was a big party as everyone was leaving….not only for the summer but for lots of us for the last time.
Without a doubt that bud hit me harder than any ever had or has since. I ended up bourbon drunk, spinning uncontrollably and heaving hard in our front yard.
In our area back then weed was generally of the commercial brick variety. Occasionally something special would come along and we’d have to pay $45- 1/4oz instead of $35. But that skunk strain was like nothing anyone had ever seen. I know there are strains grown everyday by many thats probably more potent but that bud was the king of swing for 3 of my 5yrs of higher learning.

Brings me back to the early 80s when our 4 strong guerrilla gang was bringing in 40-60lbs each season . I'd find weed and cash stashed in the damnedest places . Found 4 grand wadded up in a suit jacket pocket once !

Too funny.
Damn 40-60lbs…..you guys were going for it.
I swear you’d have thought we hit the power ball lotto jackpot when we found that weed. And the fact that we had smoked nothing of any quality for weeks really made it kick our asses.

... the psychedelic high wasn't there ...
I hear you. Each strain hits everyone slightly different.

I get a great long lasting buzz (head and body) with Blue Cheese. As do a few of my frequent smoking friends. And unlike most indica dominant strains, none of us get the sleepies after a big toke. We can do some B.C. during the day and play 18 holes. No desire to grab a nap in 30 minutes.

Yeah, you young whipper snappers won't ever know what that was like. Hey boomers, can I get an "amen"? A high THC percentage is not "all that"; there were other compounds in that old school weed that made it better than the stuff nowadays. Ignorance truly is bliss.
I've often thought that. Not too long ago I heard a woman of about 35, expert on weed, and works for state government tell a big room full of people that the weed in the sixties was about 1-2% THC. I thought, "well then why was I driving down the freeway at 35 mph"? But other ingredients might account for that. I guess I really don't or ever will know.

I think the operative word there is "government"; she works for the government. Nobody in government should be trusted about weed. The government only has ONE view of weed: it's 100% negative, no positives whatsoever, no redeeming value; it should be completely removed from the face of the earth without a trace. Does anyone, anywhere trust the government? Any of them?

That explains why I am having 67,200 fewer bad dreams than I used to ...
It's pretty funny article and written tongue in cheek but if you read it to the end it's pretty cool.

It was written by Dana Larsen. He was on the same weed forum I was on circa 20 years ago. He is one hell of an activist.
He has done more for our cause in the cannabis community than most people.

There used to be some stuff that was just out of this world. I forget what it was called but I found a picture of some online. It had a real earthy taste. I haven't seen any around in years if not decades.

Looks almost as nasty as my cob. It's in week 4 of curing now. Whacharecon made these buds the way they are?

That’s that Mexican brown town. Came in bricks, but broken into what looked like cow shit patty’s. Remember those times well. Also known by your local dealer as “the creeper”. Came with a side of mold and tons of seeds to grow some of your own.
