stretchy colas

ive noticed that the colas have stretch to them, instead of the tops being th fattest part they are the thinest. Temps are a little high at 85F but air circulation is high, i doubt the temps are the reason. They are under a 1000 hps and kept at least 10" away

Whats causing this?

it hasnt got a cola yet, when it gets well in bud it will thicken,top of plant stem will be thinner thats just the way it is in veg

that is not a good pic of the cola, because it is far to big to get the whole thing in the shot and have a good close pic of the top. The colas is about 2 feet long and the middle/bottom is pretty heavy. It is a haze plant which is in week 8/13

It looks to have a high proportion of Sativa in it and as such you will quite often get a christmas tree effect with the buds. Also, the thickest part of the cola is usually half way down and you often get what are called 'fox tails' at the top. From what I can see they just havent had any where near long enough to fill out so I would'nt worry. Also take the 8/13 with a pinch of salt, unless you know the strain from previous grows.

its is also possibly apparant that the colas that are more spindly are on the permiter of the light zone flush up against the wall and quite possibly almost higher than the light itself. the ones directly under do not look that way. light intensity I believe has a somewhat direct correlation to bud density, given everything else is in line. true about the sativas, but if these gals are more than 3.5 -4 weeks in flower than it could be this

That's what happens when you grow sativas under high pressure sodium; try flowering with a metal halide.
