Just wondering what stops you plants from "streching" when groing right form the first day of planting.

the right amount of light - Metal Halide, CFL or Flo's at the appropriate wattage.
What do you have?

good lighting. and keeping light close without burning. seems like the further the light is away from the plant the more the plant stretches the closer the light is the fuller and less spacing between nodes

dont have the light to far away from top of plant after the first week of sproting cut a 5 litter bottle in half and stik it ocer ur plant then u can have the light as close as u want take a look at my pics

Sweet im just using a 3bar T5 fluro and it is about 12inches from the plant and i have a bit of strech so should i lower it alot?

I have a plastic green house with 3 vent holes in it shouldi sit the light onto of that and should i have a fan blowing air across them?

yes you definately can use the mh from seed all the way to flowering, i would suggest getting one of the, or using a whole bunch of 42 watt cfls

i have 3 tube T5 fluro and a 600w HPS... i think ill go get a 400W HM tomorrow and put it on what height should i sit a MH from them plant?

instead goin and buying another whole light system why dont you buya mh conversion bulb that runs off a 600 watt hps ballast, the light should be about 18 inches off the plant

a good rule for lighting, If you can hold your hand on top of the plant without burning your hand - it's going to be ok for your plant too. The closer the better.

Yeah, those T-5's could be a lot closer. Ya might look at a product called Bushmaster, re:stretching.
I've added it to my tools and it works great.
