Genetics:
Bubble Gum (male) x Crockett's Banana Kush (female)
70% Indica | 30% Sativa

FLOWERING INDOOR
Claim: 9-10 Weeks (65-72 days)
My reality: For a mature cloned plant, 68 days (counted from first sign of pistils in 12/12 cycle).
NB: If cloned and given too short a veg time (say 1 week), flower time increases to approx. 88 days. Allowing clone plants to veg well, before flip, will decrease flower time.

Nutes:
Biobizz Fishmix.
Shogun Bloom.
Plant Magic Biosilicon.
Plant Magic Oldtimer granules (mycorrhizal fungi and 20 strains of beneficial bacteria).
Soluble sulphur of potash and brown sugar (both used in flower for taste+smell - simulates Terminator and Big Bud nutes :)

Notes on nutes:
Plant Magic Biosilicon - drastically raises PH of water. It must be heavily compensated for with PH down.

Soluble sulphur of potash is the only other nutrient I use which changes the PH level of feed water. It drops the PH, not a great deal but needs to be accounted for when PH-ing water. This nute is fantastic for taste and smell (imo).

Medium:
Grown in both soil and coco. Strain was happy in either (no deficiencies).
Between the mediums, I did get a taste difference in the final smoke (more on that later).

Grown indoor:
Medium-easy to grow (grown in a 1m2 tent that was two meters in height).

My pheno was reasonably 'squat' and with strong side branching, that all tried to reach for the top bud (in height).

Plant was not 'over leafy', not much pruning needed. Leaves were dark green and there was a purpling gene in there (comes out with lower temps).

Grown, without topping, SBK will create a nice big top bud (all the bud sites on the main stem join up to form a nice main cola). Very good bud density too.
The side branches;
branch bud sites didn't tend to 'meet up' (to make long extended bud sites). Instead they tended to be (like the plant) squat and very dense (densest buds I get from my growing strains). I figure, an indica leaning pheno :)

I had the SBK under 480 Watts of Samsung QB (2 light units, maxed out at 240Watts each). Plants handled light intensity well. Unlike other strains in my collection, they happily sat under 480 Watt of QB at a height of 16in (maybe even slightly lower). Other strains I have would show leaf curl at 16" (18" is the lowest I can have my other strains under these lights).

Plenty of trichomes and the buds are resinous too.

Nanas can be produced later in flower (it is a feminised strain after all). But, they all occurred late into flower, so I didn't really need to address them.

Smell in flower:
Kush with a hint of skunk and sweet tones. Smell in flower was not that bad (loud), unless the plants were disturbed. Although, after around week 8 the smell increased (carbon filter recommended here).

Smell, dried:
Kushy, skunky, earthy/musky notes.

Smoke/Taste:
Right off the bat, no strawberry or Banana here ;)
It was all Kush and Skunk mainly. Maybe, some subtle sweet tones (somewhere down the list). But, they were very subsumed.
Dense smoke but quite a smooth smoke.
The smell (while smoking) does travel more than other strains I use.
One thing I really like, the smell and the taste are the same (even in flower, it pretty much is the same). Not a fan, when the smell and the taste don't align with one another (I look for this trait nowadays).
Grown in soil;
a straight 50/50 blend of Kush and Skunk flavours (on first drying to 54% RH or below). Very tasty, gets the taste buds drooling when you smoke it.
If left to cure in jars, Kush becomes dominant and the skunk goes to the background. Earthy/musky tones start to present during the cure too. This increase in earthy tones is probably why the skunk flavours subside.

Coco; Same nutes as soil, but the end taste was slightly different.
The kush taste outweighed the skunk right off the bat. And the earthy tones now played with the skunk flavour (whereas, in soil, the skunk flavour was dominant to the earthy tones and balanced with the Kush). As before, the cure reduces any skunky flavours.

Overall its hard to explain, but my favourite flavour/smoke was dried and uncured soil grow.
Uncured the smoke was smooth, flavourful and strong (curing didn't improve that side of things). Curing just brought out the Kush and earthy flavours.
At least that makes life easy for me, just need to dry slowly for 7-10 days then I'm good to go :bigjoint:

High:
Strong, strongest strain I grow (when it comes to speed of the 'hit' and onset of the full high). I'd say, it was above 22%
High lasts around 30mins (then trails off over time to a subtle buzz). The effects are indica, stronger body high than head high.
Red eye, droopy eyes and dry mouth ..they are all waiting in line to say "hello!"
A nice high (imo - in moderation). And, if you like couch lock, it can easily be found here.
The 'sinister' side of this strain comes from the great taste. You get tied up in that loverly kushy/skunky taste and before you know it ..you'll find yourself stitched into the sofa from smoking too much!

Final Impressions:
Recommended for those who like a good indica flavour and effect,
Not a real challenge to grow.
Good muscle relaxant, good sleep aid
The Kush and Skunk flavour combo is a winner in my book. One of my favourites.
A decent power hitter.

So I'm not the only one that uses arrows to prop them up..ha
no, there real handy, i use the ones that the tips have gone on or the carbon fiber has split. i use a small padded target hanging over a brick wall for targeting in my bows, so i have a suply of split ends lol

I can certainly recommend Strawberry Banana Kush from DNA Genetics/Reserva Privada. I still run some plants of it every bloom cycle :)
I have not (personally) tried other strains from DNA Genetics/Reserva Privada. But, if Strawberry Banana Kush is anything to go by ...

Peace.
Ikr..? 20210804_154041.jpgIm rockin some of these right now bongsmilie . I grew some that checked all the boxes a few years back.
