stranger beotch went cra cra on me

my male australian cattle dog can spell. ride, outside, ball, frisbee, etc. can't even look out the window without him looking for what you're looking at. he has a toy box and will put his toys away if you get on to him about the mess...
sounds like a herding breed LOL I don't think I could have another though. We have horses so that kept him busy a lot, but when he passed, there just wasn't anyone like him. speaking of: @GreatwhiteNorth how's your new baby????

when my old boy passed, it took me almost 5 years to consider a new one. then it took a couple of years to find a good litter. fortunately, they are all unique in personality. zip may not be pepper, but he's just as good in different ways. it just took me that long to get over the loss of my ol' boy. pepper was a fucking badass. zip is a trip.

Love the name Zip. I just don't have the energy or lifestyle right now for a dog.

Ask permission before petting a strangers dog. Most won't mind . Some do.
some dogs are friendly in public but will bite if you try to touch them. zip, for instance, will let you touch him anywhere behind the ears. belly, peter, butt, back... but if you touch his head or face and he doesn't know you he'll bite. he's fast too, he'll snap ten times before you know you got tagged once. great control though, never breaks skin. the breed was made to bite ankles of cattle in order to move them (hence the name 'blue heeler')

I had a red heeler, fucking brilliant dog. Even as a puppy he'd try to herd me around with the ankle biting; which was cute at 3 months, not so cute at 4+ months. I got fed up so when he'd nip me I bit him back. Only took 3 times, I believe the last time was just to confirm to himself. The first 2 times he had a look of total astonishment on his face. Lost him to bone cancer at 9 yrs.

that sucks man. i love the breed, excellent dogs, super intelligent. i curb biting at 8 weeks with a command (no bites). as heelers are the oddballs of dog breeds, a spank or other types of aggression are usually met in kind (and they can be mean as fuck when they're angry). my tactic for the pups is to take away play. be it toys or attention, if you break the rules, you get put on the ignore list. no toys, no play, no treats, no snuggles. amazing how attentive they are after a two hour session of that, lol

it goes both ways though, 'get em up' means bite and run it (be it livestock or intrusive thief neighbor) and kill it means bite, hold, shake. usually the second is only used with snakes, raccoons and possum. they are tenacious little bastards, lol

I give thread three Ryan Lochtes.
