Strange looking preflowers?

Plants are 45 days from seed and it seems like i should be able to sex them by now. However, preflowers are coming in looking almost like new growth. They start off looking almost like balls (pic 1) and slowly progress to look like new growth (pic 3). Thoughts?

My guess is. That its hermafrodite.

What exactly about that pic makes it appear herm? Still learning and appreciate any info provided.
The small growths on the nodes indicate sex. I'm new at this as well but try to explain. With a female she will get pistils growing at each node which then gets new leaves growing. Females tend to be a lot bushier then males and shorter. The males basically grow balls and he tends to grow tall and lanky with less vegetation . If you end up with a hemaphrodite you would treat it the same as a male and get rid of it. Unless you plan on farming seeds or something he's useless and will screw your ladies...up. Lol.

Here's some pics...

Ive looked into all of that and have been able to sex other peoples plants with not much of an issue. I have just seen very few plants that grow "leaf like" new growth where the preflowers should be. I assumed they were all balls but as they grew further they are becoming leaves.

If your unsure at this time you can always separate it from any potential females until it matures a bit .I'm sure you will get the answers your looking for on this forum. Its great for us newbs

Sometimes when nitrogen levels are still dominating the scene it takes longer to show true sex, and they want to keep begging, if “she’s” dark green yet cut back on the nitrogen and use some flowering nutes next feed, I’d give it more time before deciding, ever now and then you get one that’s hard to sex..

Here’s the nodes on my outdoor females. They are about 8 weeks from seeds and doing awesome. No nutrients just ph balanced water. 1424E327-290F-40CA-8B9B-52972C019DDE.jpeg0713486E-30F4-4AB6-BBE1-DE198BA5AAB2.jpegAD0429BC-1BED-4D3F-92F8-195D4AB30665.jpeg

Yup I had a five outdoor plants all started from just seeds that I had saved over a couple months from nice herb I would get. Find the odd seed in a bag and save it. It took a while for me to figure out two of them and finally pulled them after they matured a bit.

Why are you cutting fan leaves off?
To expose the inside of plant after LST. Just cleaning up from bottom up. I got a bit carried away on one of them. Just experimenting with some techniques. First time growing. I have a tent inside with ten little ones and I’m trying out some techniques to apply to the real operation in the basement lol

Realize that the fan leaves are the engines of the plant. The more you cut the slower it goes in veg. The weaker the flowers later.

I also read that lower ones and big ones that are blocking bud sites can be removed. I will be a bit more thoughtful of the pruning. Like I said it’s the first time growing. Lots to learn and I appreciate any helpful input. Thanks Harley
