so ive been reading around on fourms of many sites and i just dont get it...when reading about outdoor strains, it seems that most peole grow indica plants but dont sativas grow better outdoors?

if i were to grow outdoors and only water my plants once every 3 or 4 days, weather averages about 75 degrees during summer and spring months, would i come out with good quality bud?

since im not growing indoors, im not drying/curing indoors.. how can i dry and cure outdoors fairly quick.

Most people grow indicas because of the time that it takes to finish off a sativa. I had a bagseed sativa that I planted in march last season and it didn't get into full flower until November. I wasn't able to harvest her. :(

For drying set up like one of these in the sun but use clear or black strong plastic and have the sides off the ground about a foot, also run wires long ways inside and secure the branch/bud to wire with pegs.

Choosing the right genetics for your climate is crucial to growing outdoors successfully. I think there are several reasons why you don't see more sativas. They can take a lot longer to flower and in general yield less than indica or indica dominant strains. The major reason, like angryblackman said, is finishing time. Places like the northeast or upper midwest, the season just isn't long enough for them to finish. I'd love to grow a sativa dominant strain outdoors but I know it wouldn't finish for me in time.

Early Pearl will finish in time. I've grown Early Pearl x Skunk #1 here in Minnesota and it turned out great. I'm super excited to grow her Sativa mom (Early pearl) this year.

I have Early Pearl x AK47. I havent grown her in a while but it was nice smoke and finished in early Oct. with big yields outdoors.
I would go with BC BUD DEPOT PURPS. Easy to grow. Can handle heavy feedings. Pure fire to smell and smoke. The best outy's Ive ever smoked was Purps done outside. The sun does something extra special to the terpenes in the Purps. It will finish in time as well with huge purple buds of pure bliss.
