strain selection for CO outdoor grow

Howdy farmers!
I am going for my first out door grow this year. My wife cousin and i will all be involved( for legality sake)
I am hoping to run 10 girls outside, I will be starting from clone inside and ease them into sun light in may and plant in the earth the first week of June (comments on this plan?)

I have a choice of clones and am looking for any prior experiences
I am interested in potency/ resin production, bug resistance, and yield.
The choices i have are:
Sour Diesel
White Widow
Grandoggy purps
Platinum bubba kush
Og kush
Black widow x og kush
Golden goat
Jack herer
Bruce Banner
Deathstar

So far i am leaning towards the White Widow and the Sour D for outside.
As stated earlier we will run 10 outside in the earth, and i want to make the most of it!

Thanks,
Jake

Right on, it is a whole different game outdoors. Its been about 15 years since I have done it. I am also considering it for the summer. I am in WA though so not familiar with your climate. I chose Holland's Hope for its pest and disease resistance. We tend to lose buds to rot in late Sept early Oct here. I will probably use autos for the first time too, finishing early is important.

I imagine finishing early in that wet climate is a must!
I considered some autos, but mainly i want to stick clones for this grow. I plan to start stockpiling seeds now for next grow when i will have my MMC license. I will ad Hollands Hope to the list which is ever growing!
Come on out and enjoy the sun with me this year Cascadian!!

Yeah man, I will be getting out just show me the sunshine! Will be waiting for late May for that here... Probably try to kill 2 birds with one stone... do some fishing and some planting.
I am starting a seed run right now. Just started a Holland's Hope which I will be using colloidal silver on to get feminized pollen to make a ton of HH beans. Also, going to use a Dinafem Amnesia Auto as a feminized father to cross to amnesia auto, haze 2 auto, critical + 2 auto, and some of the freebie autos I received.

You said your wife and cousin had to be involved for legalities sake. I'm 99% sure that any outdoor growing is illegal in Colorado. Just thought you might want to know that.

your wife cousin? you married your cousin? kidding sure it's a typo. :)

if you've access to those clones and live in a nice friendly state why not try them all? one or two of each. the people you get your clones from they haven't tried them outdoors? if you have decent weather (or cover for fall) probly all of them would do just fine. if it gets rainy in early Oct like it does where i am at try the ones that are mostly indica and if that works well go for some more on the sativa side for next summer.

Each year I grow 1 to 2 outside here in northern Colorado. I've grown Northern Lights, White Widow, Blue Widow, Heavy Duty Fruity and Critical 2. They all began budding in August and I usually pull them between the first & the third week in October (it all depends on the 1st freeze). It's the April, May, June storms that can kill you. I now rig up a square frame made of 2x4's around the plant. I staple screen door material on the top to protect them from the darn hail we get up here. Hail really rips a plant apart. If she makes it through to July, I do the happy dance and buy jars.

It is illegal to grow recreational weed outdoors here. Has to be in an enclosed and locked space to be legal. Sounds like you might have some red cards though so I think that is different.

The post above about the hail is right on! Would highly recommend you do a carport if down on the plains. If in the mountains, you'll need a greenhouse to make it to harvest.

Other outdoor pests to think about in CO: deer, rabbit, skunk, raccoon, fox, bear, lions...at least those are the ones I have to worry about!

Thanks all for the input!
I am currently playing phone tag with the Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division trying to get the facts as to exactly what i need to grow out doors

I am planning a big chain link box with only a locking man door for entrance/egress. I would think growing in the cage would keep me compliant and eliminate the larger "pest" problems.

DEBBIE! I really like that idea! I was working on a rolling trap design for inside my cage, but screen on top would be perfect and cheap! Thank you very much!

I am leaning towards this design because it will make SCROGing a piece of cake and provide awesome air flow and light penetration on all sides.

As far as strain selection- the list has shrunk down to
White widow
Sour Diesel
Grandoggy Purps

Critical Kush is going to take half the spots after i find out if the guy is reputable and check out his grow(new friends every day Haha) The guy in question supposedly grew 4 of them in the earth last year and yielded 5 1/2lbs. I would like to have a heavy girl like that in my first solar powered grow :-):-)

You got a problem with cousin lovin??????
The main grower who will provide clones has grown only the Sour outside, with outstanding results. He has a strain he has been working on for years and years so summer grow space is very much occupied with those plants- i cut slack on the lack of outdoor experience with his indoor girls.

By the way. What's a typo?

Awesome stuff!!! I trust that this will be updated in your journal?

Would you plant first or fish first? I think id fish for a few hours before dawn and then get dirty, brotha :-)

Yeah, will definitely update on it. Might start a new journal.

Fish first of course, unless I have had too many cocktails the night before... Plan on getting dirty on some lunchtime expeditions, then hitting the lakes for the evening.

Should be a fun summer, whatever fish or bud comes of it, will be great just to enjoy the great outdoors!

Awesome, Look forward to seeing how your auto experimentation plays out!

I may plant a seed next to my favorite fishing hole just to see how mother nature works, though I did see 2 moose and a bear up there last fall so i don't think she'd survive.

This is not accurate. Your suppose to have them in an enclosed, locked space with a roof. Greenhouses are more than acceptable. If you just have a privacy fence it's technically not legal, but I wouldn't think would be a big deal. I've had friends who grew inside of a privacy fence & had to call the sheriff due to people trying to jack their shit & everything was just fine, no issues. They were even over their limit & still got to keep everything; the sheriff was on their side. But I'm sure it's different in each area.

You get that sometimes in forums, that's alright. When in doubt get on the MED website and find the answers. A chain link fence with a chain link roof that is attached in mfgr suggested tolerances is compliant to grow however many plants you have the script for or can grow as a 21 year old. Also, to clear up any confusion- the rec limit is 12 per household, however MED defers to doctor recommendations, so extended plant counts should still keep a grower compliant.( Keith with the med office supplied this info)

I guess I didn't think of an enclosed locked greenhouse. When the op said outside I instantly thought of plants in dirt outside. Was just trying to keep him out of trouble.
